MEETING COMMUNITY AND LIBRARY NEEDS BWB’s free Drop Box Program makes it easy for your community to donate books and for the library to benefit at the same time. We can be your sole donation program, or work with existing Friends or Bookstore outlets.

• Drop Boxes support the donation collection process The Drop Box program is a win-win solution to the donation challenge. The community feels good about supporting the library in a way that does not create more work for the library staff. An attractive, clearly marked box (approximately 4 x 4 square feet in size) is placed in each participating library’s parking lot. Library patrons or staff notify BWB when a box needs to be emptied via text messaging, email or phone. BWB handles the rest.

• Donations generate a new revenue stream. BWB collects donations from your Drop Boxes and sells them across over 50 online and offline marketplaces. Your library receives a percentage of every sale. Items not sold are donated to various literacy organizations or recycled. Nothing is thrown away. Easy-to-access reports show how your Drop Boxes are benefitting your library, literacy, and the environment.

• Free Book Insurance: Boxes are prominently labeled “No Library Returns,” but if you notify BWB that a library book inadvertently was put in the Drop Box, BWB will reimburse you.
