One of the best parts of my job has been acting as the project manager for our Love Letters campaign and helping build and launch Crisis Text Line. I was able to be really hands on at YCAB. We built 5 social action campaigns for Indonesian teens from start to finish. Jakarta was a fascinating place to do this because I was able to see the work I do in the US through a different lens.

I learned a lot about new funding structures and how they can be propelled to support the amazing work YCAB Foundation does. It was really awesome that the YCAB team was able to take us to many of these businesses and meet some of the mothers who receive the micro loans. It’s one thing to read this on paper but it’s another to see it in action. It was amazing to see how much they had done with their businesses, with the investments that were given to them. The experience taught me how to think of my work doing cause campaigns in a more global perspective. I was able to help inform our international team to make better decisions for our international partners. This volunteer program really lets you integrate with the staff and get fully hands on.

The team respects your input and is flexible in letting you participate in many aspects of the organization. Because of this, I was really able to learn about the organization and how a non-profit organization functions in Jakarta. I hope that “the team is able to bring DoSomething.org opportunities to all of Indonesia so teens can rock causes they care about.

Dear Ibu Vera,

Firstly, I would like to say thank you for all the opportunities and kindness that you have given to me as long as I joined YCAB. I am very grateful to be part of YCAB for these 2,5 years plus during my internship in 2011.

Joined YCAB has bern one of my dream since junior high school and it came true. I found my second home here and learned a lot of new things. Again, I am so glad, knowing that I am working for a good cause here, especially when I visited Rumah Belajar and saw the students and staffs there. It such a privileged and an awesome experiences for me as a fresh graduate to work with you and YCAB family that always support me in any conditions and situation. I apologize if I have a lot of mistakes during in YCAB.

Thank you once again for the warm welcome and being an inspiration for me. These time, I also still want to help if YCAB need something or volunteer. Hopefully, in the future, as a graduate from YCAB, I can give back to YCAB. Please stay in touch and all the best for you and YCAB.

Sincerely yours, Yessica Ade
