The Neave Trio “’Neave’ is actually a Gaelic name meaning ‘bright’ and ‘radiant,’ both of which certainly apply to this trio’s music making.” — Robert Sherman, WQXR Radio, NYC.
Hailed by critics for its “heart-on-sleeve performances” (Classical New Jersey), the Neave Trio has been described as “a revelation” (San Diego News) and “a brilliant trio” (MusicWeb International), who have “exceeded the gold standard and moved on to platinum” (Fanfare Magazine). The Boston Musical Intelligencer ranked the Neave Trio among the finest chamber ensembles of their generation, writing: “it is inconceivable that they will not soon be among the busiest chamber ensembles going.”
One of the finest emerging chamber ensembles, the Neave Trio has been enjoying tremendous international success in concert series’ and at festivals worldwide. In the US, the Trio has appeared in Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, the 92nd Street Y, Boston’s Jordan Hall, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center/La Jolla Music Society, Fontana Chamber Arts, the American Dvorák Society, Laguna Beach Live!, Rockport Chamber Music Festival (as their “Rising Star” Ensemble), Syracuse Friends of Chamber Music, the Los Angeles Music Guild, the La Jolla Athenaeum, and as soloists in Beethoven’s Triple Concerto with the California Chamber Orchestra and the Fall River Symphony Orchestra.
The Neave Trio was recently appointed “New Generation Faculty Ensemble-in-Residence” at the Bard College Longy School of Music in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The Trio has held several other important residency positions at Brown University, the Fisch/Axelrod Residency at San Diego State University, the prestigious Chamber Music Residency at the Banff Centre (Canada), Providence College, the Concord Academy and the Walnut Hill School for the Arts, as well as at the Chamber Music Connection.
Highlights of recent seasons include tours of the US, England and Spain, and the world premiere, at their Chicago début, of a commissioned work by renowned American composer Augusta Read Thomas. Trio members hail from the United States, Japan and Russia.
