2020 Fall Gala Honoring Joe Devine

Dear Community Member,

It has been my great fortune to spend the last 34 years of my life as a resident of Gloucester County and to work in South Jersey. Ultimately, I had the blessing to become the CEO of a large health system in the region. I have seen first-hand the value of youth having the necessary structure to succeed in life. The Boys & Girls Clubs provide that structure.

It is my sincere privilege and honor to serve as the honoree for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Gloucester County’s 2020 Fall Gala. The importance of providing support for our young people is imperative. All of us should consider and embrace it for the future of our society. It is our responsibility as people, business leaders and organizations to provide opportunities for our young people to help them build character, learn personal development skills, participate in recreational activities and learn leadership skills to prepare them for their life journey. These skills are vitally important in order for them to be successful in their educational pursuits and to become future leaders in our region and beyond. In fact, these young people someday could be leading your organization or community in some capacity- and maybe even our nation.

Due to COVID-19, this year’s gala is going virtual! It will be a private online event held on Thursday, October 22nd, from 6PM to 7:15, all from the comfort of your home!

Everyone who attends will get a private link, an electronic program book, which can easily be sent to others by e-mail, and some wonderful coupons supporting local businesses. Sponsors will be highlighted before, during and long after this event is over. While the format is different, the program will continue to offer excitement and entertainment and include a roast theme.

Our society is in the midst of a once in a lifetime pandemic. Add to that the economic challenges, social injustice, violence and many other matters creating concerns and stress in our communities. During this time the need for structure and consistency has never been more important. That is why supporting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Gloucester County will make a difference for these young people… and you.
