Ergonic® systems are microprocessor-supported control systems for control-ling and regulating concrete pumpsand placing booms.
EBC – Ergonic® Boom Control controls and regulates concrete placingbooms. EBC enables a higher concreteplacement performance, reinforces saf-ety on the construction site and makesit easier to control the boom.
EPS – Ergonic® Pump Systemundertakes the control of the concretepump and ensures an optimised pump-ing process.
EOC – Ergonic® Output Controlensures economic operation of the con-crete pump. It automatically regulatesto the ideal engine speed with the low-est consumption, wear and noise.

Ergonic® –the best conditions for getting ahead
Greater efficiency, lower costs, increasedflexibility – these are the results thatPutzmeister concrete pumps withErgonic® systems can achieve in pract-ice.
Just when it’s getting tight and tricky –for concreting indoors or narrow form-works, for example – the Ergonic® BoomControl (EBC) functions are invaluable tothe machine operators.
Being ready for use more quickly, achiev-ing increased concrete placement perfor-mance and working economically withlittle wear are important economic fac-tors, and not only for machine and pumpoperators. Construction site managershave also been convinced by the potenti-al of Ergonic®: the construction site is
run more efficiently and Putzmeisterpumps with Ergonic® are simply readyfor concreting more quickly.
Ergonic® has set new standards. And willcontinue to do so in the future, becausePutzmeister will continue to developinnovative solutions that benefit you.

EBC – still boomat full power
On large booms of the 40 m class and bigger,EBC also damps torsional oscillation.
With EBC:EBC reduces the vertical movement of theboom to about 1/3 and also damps the deflect-ion of the end hose in all directions.
without damping
with damping
Without EBC With EBC, the vibrations aredamped to about 1/3.
Better work with vibration damping
If EBC operation is preselected, dampingis automatically activated when the boomis moved. During pumping operations(without movement of the boom), damp-ing must be activated on the left-handjoystick. EBC then balances out vibrat-ions in the placing boom regardless ofthe delivery rate. The still end hose canbe moved more easily and the concrete iscleanly inserted – making life mucheasier for the operator at the end hose.
Constant height when moving the end hose
If the end hose is moved in a horizontaldirection only, its height remains const-ant during the concreting – regardless ofthe angle of the truck (± 3°). EBC even compensates for a changingconcrete weight in the delivery line.
BP 3763 GB4
Precise concrete placement with high output
When the joystick is turned, the end hosemoves precisely up or down proportion-ally. A great advantage when concretingformwork or abutments. When large foundations are being con-creted in layers, the end hose must beprecisely threaded into various places inthe reinforcement in succession.A concrete pump with EBC is considerab-ly quicker and its concrete placementperformance is significantly greater.
EBC – Ergonic® Boom Control – for increased concrete placement performance
The innovative EBC control system fortruck-mounted concrete pumps (Ergonic®
Boom Control) was the first of theErgonic® systems and revolutionisedboom control. Aided by a computer, theplacing boom can be easily and preciselycontrolled. Moreover, the concrete place-ment performance of the concrete pumpcan be increased.
The concrete pump operator is unburden-ed and can concentrate better on his sur-roundings and the movement of the endhose. The boom is precisely moved horiz-ontally and vertically by simple move-ments of the joystick with One TouchControl.
A real advantage: no need to change yourgrip, no additional switchovers of individ-ual arms.
The pumping process is optimised bythe damping of boom vibrations and anintelligent working range restriction. Theboom and end hose are very smooth, allowing the concrete pump operator towork the construction site more precisely. The boom is also prevented from collid-ing with itself in critical positions withEBC (Ergonic® Boom Control).
Your customers will soon accept nothingless on the construction site.
The advantages of EBC at a glance:
■ Precise concrete placement withhigh output
■ Blocking critical areas reinforcessafe working
■ Simple boom control unburdensthe operator
■ Smoother end hose thanks tovibration damping
■ Improved ergonomics with OneTouch Control
■ Precise vertical control of the endhose with a simple turn of the joy-stick
■ Increased operational safety due tosemi-automatic folding in/out
■ Computer-aided arm control optimises concreting
■ High machine availability thanks to high-quality components andrapid diagnosticsImportant note: Ergonic® Boom Control makes work easier
and optimises processes, but has no safety function. The operator remains responsible for his work.
Without EBC:Stop-start movements when the boom ismoved and slewed and pump pulsations causevarious degrees of deflection in the end hose.

EBC – additional safety provided by working rangerestriction
A working and movement range can bespecified for the boom. This range willnot be exceeded during subsequent con-creting. This represents an additionalsafety factor for indoor concreting operat-ions and is one less thing for the machineoperator to worry about.
Setting the upper limit: The boom tip is also moved to theupper limit and confirmed with theremote control.
Setting the lower limit: The boom tip is moved to the desiredlower limit. Confirmation of the lower limit with the remote control.
Moving in the defined workingrange: Once the upper and lower limits aredefined, the boom always moves withinthe set limits. This reduces risks and prevents damage.
BP 3763 GB6
Increase in operational safetydue to semi-automatic foldingin/out of the boom
Raise and slew the arm assemblymanually with the right-hand joy-
stick (M 36) (left-hand joystick for largebooms with overhead roll-and-fold)
Folding in and out: The boom can be automatically
folded in and out by moving the left-hand joystick up or down.
Locking arm positions and set-ting preferred positions makeconcreting operations easier
The positions of arm 1 and arm 2 can belocked. Once the position has beensaved, the arms remain in their position, regardless of how the other arms aremoved. A preferred position can be set for thelast arm. This position is maintainedduring concreting.

Better efficiency due to fewer hydraulic components
In purely hydraulic control systems, there are valves, throttles, regulators, etc.that control all the functions. With EPS,all this is taken on by a computer. Fewhydraulic components are required, i.e.there is less energy loss in the systemand therefore less wear and a lower fuelconsumption.
BP 3763 GB10
EPS – Ergonic® Pump System – ensuring perfect operation
The computer-aided Ergonic® controlconstantly monitors and regulates theoperation of the concrete pump and thetruck engine. This means maximum pro-ductivity and performance with minimumintervention from the operator.
EPS (Ergonic® Pump System) hasconsiderable advantages over convention-al hydraulic controls: it regulates theconcrete pump fully electronically andensures that the pumping process runsperfectly.
The advantages of EPS at a glance:
■ Smooth pumping process ■ Less noise emission thanks to the
silence function (PUMI®)■ Low wear ■ Low fuel consumption ■ Vibrations in the machine and
boom are reduced■ Fully electronic control of the
concrete pump■ Fewer hydraulic components■ Doubly protected control ■ EOC (Ergonic® Output Control) is
included in EPS
The switchover of the transfer tubes, forexample, is adjusted to suit the consist-ency of concrete (PUMI®). This meansthat the concrete does not “strikethrough” the transfer tube, even if it is ofa very soft consistency.
Pump data, such as delivery pressure, delivery rate of the hydraulic pump, hyd-raulic pressure and many other signals, isactively and perfectly co-ordinated. Thisis not really possible with conventionalhydraulic control systems.
Less noise thanks to the silence function (PUMI®)
The silence function integrated in theEPS control system in PUMI®s minimis-es pressure peaks and reduces switch-over impacts. The softer pumping process and thegentler run up reduce vibrations in themachine and boom and increase the filllevel of the concrete pump. The result isfewer strokes with the same output, which conserves the concrete pump andtruck and makes the pumping processsignificantly smoother.

ETS – Ergonic® Tele Service – your advantage in the event of a service
Future function enhancements – e.g.business data or working data storage –can be implemented with simple softwareupdates.
All measures in the area of ETS createtransparency for the user and support theworkshop and service. In all, this is abenefit for the increased availability andefficiency of the machine.
On site, the Ergonic® status data can be read outusing a laptop
At the concrete pumping service or at a Putzmeister service partner, the machine data is transferred viamobile data communication to a PC and displayed in real time

In particular cases, you can demand more engineoutput via the “Speed of rotation plus” button
EOC – from zero to a hundred in one turnYou can set the desired delivery ratewith the “Output regulation” rotaryknob on the remote control. You cancontrol the hydraulic pump performan-ce linearly from zero to the maximumdelivery rate. The electronics regulate the speed up to75 % of the maximum delivery rate(e.g.: 120 m3/h) to a value that is opt-imum for the specific engine (e.g.:1300 rpm), at which the fuel consumpt-ion is particularly low (see diagram).
If a delivery rate above 75 % is selectedwith the rotary knob, the EOC automatic-ally increases the speed. However, itnever reaches the unfavourable areawhich cannot be controlled without EOC. It is not possible to set the full throttleengine speed and minimum deliveryrate with EOC at the same time. (See thediagram.) If the boom is not moved and the pumpis off, the speed drops back down to850 rpm after 10 seconds.

If you still require more power...If you want to accelerate particular pro-cesses (e.g. folding out the boom), youcan simply increase the engine speed onthe remote control using the “Speed ofrotation plus” button. As soon as yousubsequently start to operate the “Outputregulation” rotary knob again, EOC takesover and regulates down to your opt-imum speed.
If in extreme situations, e.g. if the con-crete is particularly heavy, it becomesnecessary to pump small amounts ofconcrete with full pressure, the EOC canbe switched off at the control cabinet oron the remote control.
EOC – lower fuel consumption, less wear
You can set the delivery rate of yourpump directly with just one rotary knobon the remote control. The electronics of the EOC (Ergonic®
Output Control) automatically regulate tothe optimum engine speed with thelowest consumption, wear and noise.
The EOC function is integrated in theEPS (Ergonic® Pump System).
EOC – Ergonic® Output Control reduces consumption, wear and noise
Higher machine availability and lower costs
The ETS (Ergonic® Tele Service) enablesthe remote diagnosis and parameterisat-ion of status data for the concrete pump. All Ergonic® functions can therefore bedisplayed, e.g. boom positions and boomoperating states, limits entered by themachine operator and limiting angle orengine data such as speed of rotationand temperature. This is displayed on a PC, to which themachine data is transferred via mobiledata communication. In the case of afault, the machine operator can receiverapid and specific assistance remotely. APutzmeister service technician does nothave to be on site with the machine.
With this same user interface, the relev-ant data can be accessed:■ directly on the machine via a Service
laptop ■ remotely via a modem and PC in the
