In the past, the PNP adopted various anti-criminality strategy to promote public safety.

However, most of the strategies are unsustainable because they were just revision of concepts from other countries and not suitable in the Philippines.

It is along this line that a peacekeeping concept responsive to the unique peace and order condition in our country were crafted.It is called BARANGAY PEACEKEEPING OPERATION
