Work Status – Overview
Work status feature allows user lock a region(or slice) of data in a model. A region(or slice) of data is defined by 1 to 14 dimensions(characteristics) permodel.
Work status in BPC 10.1 Unified is highly integrated with BW data slice.
Work status is integrated into BW Planning Session concept, work status isalready checked when planning session is started.
Work status can be changed from an input form, a read-only report or directly fromBusiness Processing Flow steps.
Work status report can display aggregated result on hierarchy node.

Work Status – Work State (1)
Work state definition in BPC unified is per BPC model.Work states can be defined by customer with any name. Typical work states: Inprocess, Sent for Approval, Approved… etc.
Default work state ‘Unlocked’ is pre -delivered per model and can be change

Work Status – Locking Dimensions
Region of data(to be controlled by Work Status) is defined by locking dimensions.BPC 10.1 Unified allows number of locking dimensions from 1 to 14dimensions(characteristics) including owner dimension, default number is 5.
Max number of locking dimensions can be maintain in transaction codeRSBPC_ADMIN - > enter field ‘BPC_WS_DIM_COUNT’, value = number of lockingdimensions - > choose ‘Insert’, ‘Update’ or ‘Delete’ -> Execute
BPC model can have multiple info-providers include, to setup work status in thiscase, all the locking dimensions shall exist in all info-providers of the model.

Work Status – Owner Dimension
Owner dimension MUST be specified to determine owner and manager.
At runtime, owner(s) of current member owner dimension is derived either from‘Owner property’( user ID) or ‘Team Property’( as member of the team).
Manager of current member is derived from two properties of current member’sparent member from specified hierarchy.
Work status are recorded on either base member or parent node for owner
dimension.

Work Status – Other Locking Dimensions
Other locking dimensions are optional, can be define according to businessscenario.
Hierarchy specification for other locking dimensions is optional. If it’s not definedat design time, it can specified at runtime.
Work status are recorded on either base member only for other locking
dimensions.

Work Status – Set Work Status by Info-Provider
By default(above checkbox not marked), work status lock is applied to cross allInfo-Providers under current BPC model
In some business case, customer want to have different work status locking statuswith different Info-Providers. By check above setting, additional filed 0INFOPROVwill be add to work status locking table.
When set work status, user will be asked to specify Info-Provider.

Work Status – Work Status Data Reset
Change of Work Status setting might trigger deletion of existing Work Status lockingdata. Save on following changes will trigger above popup:
Create/delete work state, re-order work state.
Change owner dimension, owner dimension’s hierarchy.
Change locking dimensions.Check/Uncheck ‘Set work state by InfoProvider’.

Work Status – Set Work Status From Input Form/Report
Work status change can be called up from Web/EPM add-in Input form or Report
Work status change with input form on both Web client and EPM add-in is highlyintegrated with planning session concept. Work status change is buffered inplanning session buffer together with transaction until buffer is submitted to DB.

Work Status – Work Status Reports
Work status report can be found at system report area of web logon page.
By creating BW query on top of work status virtual provider, OLAP based workstatus reports can be created on Web client/EPM add-in.
