• Braddock has five playgrounds that are widely used by adolescents in the community:– Third Street– Kaboom (Braddock Avenue)– Center Street– Washington Avenue– Camp Avenue

• There is precious little for this age group to do in Braddock. There are no restaurants, no bowling alleys, no movie theaters, or anything of that sort. These four playgrounds are just about the only free forms of entertainment in Braddock accessible by anybody.

• Each of these playgrounds are in need of various improvements to better meet the needs of the Braddock community.

Conclusion

• These photos were taken during the winter when all four playgrounds are closed for the season. The littering issues increase greatly from regular use during warmer months.

• Each playground is in a different overall condition and has unique needs, but all of them could use improvement.

The Kaboom Playground is the most prominent and visible playground in Braddock. However, for many Braddock residents, there are other playgrounds that are far more conveniently-located.

We believe Braddock stands to derive the most benefit from improvements made to each of its playgrounds.
