Background

What is Braille?

Braille is a series of raised dots that can be read with the fingers

by people who are blind or whose eyesight is not sufficient for reading

printed material. Teachers, parents, and others who are not visually

impaired ordinarily read Braille with their eyes. Braille is not a language.

Rather, it is a code by which languages such as English or Sinhala may be

written and read.

Ordinary Level(O\L) or Advance Level(A\L)

Basically exam paper creator only creates English version

of the exam paper

If he needs to create Braille version of that paper he need

external person who expert in Braille language

That conversion process is time consuming and unsecure

Using this system exam paper creator can convert

standard exam paper to Braille paper by not getting any

help of external person

• We are tying to prevent below issues and wastages in the human

interaction procedures

• Involving so many people is time and money wasting. Examiner himself

can translates the exam paper into Braille version without interfering any

• Privacy is the main prior in examinations. By involving so many people,

exam information can be leak out

Research Objectives• Common Objectives

– To provide a perfect solution for how to convert Braille words into computer readable format and Standard English words into Braille words

– To implement Offline Character Recognition System for Braille character recognition

– To reduce the wasting time of typing Braille version of the exam paper or any other document

– To provide the facility of editing the converted document after the conversion by providing an editor

– To recognize words in the scanned document by achieving accuracy level between 80% - 90%

Benefits of using Braille Converter

Expected Results
