Introduction
Brain-computer interface (BCI) is a fast-growingemergent technology, in which researchers aim tobuild a direct channel between the human brain andthe computer.
A Brain Computer Interface (BCI) is a collaboration inwhich a brain accepts and controls a mechanicaldevice as a natural part of its representation of thebody.
Computer-brain interfaces are designed to transmitsensory information from the brain, or stimulate thebrain through articially generated electrical signals.

FEATURE EXTRACTION OF
SIGNAL(continued)
FuRIA : An inverse solution based feature extraction
m(t) = K c(t)
where K is an Ne (3 Nv) matrix called the lead field matrix
c(t) = Tm(t)
where T is the generalized inverse of K.
where
Ne is No. of electrode m(t) is recorded signal
Nv is No. of dipole c(t) is brain dipole activity
T is generalized inverse ofK

SIGNAL CLASSIFICATION(continued)
FUZZY INFERENCE SYSTEM
A FIS can automatically extract fuzzy rules from data, these
rules describing which input feature values correspond to
which output class, i.e. mental state.
FUZZY RULE IS AS FOLLOWS:
If X1 is Aj1 and . . . and Xi is Aji and . . . and XN is AjN Then
Class is Cj

TRAINING OF BCISYSTEM
TWO TYPES OF APPROACH
In the first approach the subject concentrates
on a few mental tasks. In the second approach the user has to learn
to self-regulate his or her EEGresponse.

APPLICATIONS
Provide disabled people with communication, environment
control, and movement restoration.
Provide enhanced control of devices such as wheelchairs,
vehicles, or assistance robots for people with disabilities.

DRAWBACKS
It can cause headache.
The signal is weak and prone to interference.
The equipment is less than portable.
Connecting to the nervous could lead to the permanent brain damage.
Virus attack may occur to brain causing ill effects.

CONCLUSION
A potential therapeutic tool.
BCI is an advancing technology promising paradigm shift in areas like MachineControl, Human Enhancement, Virtual reality and etc. So, its potentially highimpact technology.
Several potential applications of BCI hold promise for rehabilitation andimproving performance, such as treating emotional disorders (for example, depression or anxiety), easing chronic pain, and overcoming movement
disabilities due to stroke.
Will enable us to achieve singularity very soon.
Intense R&D in future to attain intuitive efficiency.
