Another example of combining humans and animals…

Page 7: Brain storming 4th quarter

Abstracted Figurative Forms.

Page 8: Brain storming 4th quarter

Heavily abstracted figurative art.

Page 9: Brain storming 4th quarter

Abstracted Figure with Bird on head. Unusual juxtaposition of unrelated objects.

Page 10: Brain storming 4th quarter

A combination of humans, objects and storytelling.

Page 11: Brain storming 4th quarter

A combination of sculpting, drawing and painting.

Page 12: Brain storming 4th quarter

Abstracted figures heavily influenced by the artist’s native culture.

Page 13: Brain storming 4th quarter

Combines humanistic like figures with animals. Reflective of the aesthetic of the Egyptian culture.

Page 14: Brain storming 4th quarter

ASSEMBLAGE An unusual juxtaposition of found and

sculpted objects. Mixed media.

Page 15: Brain storming 4th quarter

Assemblage. Here, a nest and a sculpted figure.

Page 16: Brain storming 4th quarter

Assemblage. Human references and found object.

Page 17: Brain storming 4th quarter

Assemblage… Could be done in a cut out book or a cigar box… You would need to have a strong ceramic component but could add all different kinds of objects.

Page 18: Brain storming 4th quarter

A different kind of assemblage… Out of the box. You would need to have a strong ceramic component, but could bring in other objects to combine with your sculpted pieces. Here, they are all painted the same color to create a strong sense of unity.

Page 19: Brain storming 4th quarter

FORMALISM Focusing purely on the relationship of the

elements of art and principles of design.

Page 20: Brain storming 4th quarter

Formalist Sculpture. Focuses mainly on the formal aspects of art, in an attempt to balance on the interaction of the chosen elements and principles.

Page 21: Brain storming 4th quarter

Formalist Abstract Design. Very organic. Heavy in earth tones. Glazed and painted.

Page 22: Brain storming 4th quarter

Formalist Sculpture: A great variety of forms all in the cool/neutral color scheme. Column Composition, not unlike a totem pole.

Page 23: Brain storming 4th quarter

BAS RELIEF The following pieces are done in the bas

relief style. Would need to be done as a series.

Page 24: Brain storming 4th quarter

Bas Relief. An entire series of tiles exhibiting a great number of different designs and textures.

Page 25: Brain storming 4th quarter

Bas Relief Series.

Page 26: Brain storming 4th quarter

Bas Relief Tile… Forms from

Nature

Page 27: Brain storming 4th quarter
Page 28: Brain storming 4th quarter

Cut paper sculpture, but could be translated into ceramics. Bas Relief without the tile. Would be very fragile to handle, but possible to accomplish.

Page 29: Brain storming 4th quarter

MASKS Several varied examples. Would need to be

done in some kind of series.

Page 30: Brain storming 4th quarter

Masks: A series of ideas within one genre could be explored. Masks can not be copies of originals, but could borrow heavily from a chosen tradition or culture.

Page 31: Brain storming 4th quarter

Much along the lines of the last piece, but with a different style.

Page 32: Brain storming 4th quarter

Masks with a lot of detailing, color and personality. Greatly abstracted.

FASHIONISTA Sculpture with a tip of the hat to the fashion

world…

Page 40: Brain storming 4th quarter

All Ceramic Dress. You could not work quite this large, but you could do a moderatly sized piece/a series in this vein.

Page 41: Brain storming 4th quarter

Abstracted fashion turned into sculture. The same form is repeated several times, with the only strong variation being with the color from object to object.

Page 49: Brain storming 4th quarter

Borrowing heavily from nature…

These forms are very closely related to specific animals, but take great liberty with artistic choices in color and design.

Page 50: Brain storming 4th quarter
Page 51: Brain storming 4th quarter

Architectural forms. Abstracted. Combined with animals, creates interesting composition.
