‘…and what about the sound?’, (2 stills from the video.) 2015.

Comment about all the cameras placed in Antwerp; but what about the sound?

I’m standing underneath the camera, obviously recording the sound of people/animals/… who are

passing by the camera.

‘PUBLIC MUSEUM’, (wood, Lacquer paint, varnish, screws.) 2015.

‘Public Museum’, translated in Greek; placed on a abandonned building in the center of Antwerp.

This is a social building, build between the two wars. Now they gouvernement want to replace this

building for a new one. Because of this an action group was born, and have two main topics in order

to save this building. The social aspect of the whole story and the historical architectural value of it.

Now there is a big discussion between this action group and the municipality, both with their own

arguments. The whole story fits inside the contemporary Greek tragedy and I wanted to show this to

both parties and those who pass by. The way of typography and placing of letters refers to

institutonal buildings.

‘Greek Cabinet’, (mixed media.) 2013 & 2015.

A serie of self made and found objects, each with a nameplate with a formal description to the

object. This personal exhibition questions the way of archiving objects.

‘Barrier’, ( PVC tube, cement, lacquer paint, wood, screws.) 2014.

A barrier in the middle of an old mine site, totally needless in the environment.

‘Short Barrier’, (PVC tube, cement, lacquer paint, wood, screws.) 2014.

The format of the barrier is bigger than the distance of closure, the function changed.

‘J-M-B’, (aluminum plate, religious beeswax, acrylic paint.) 2015.

‘TAKTAKTAKTAK’, (ceramic plate, religious beeswax, acrylic paint,) 2015.

‘Last Salute’, (zinc plate, religious beeswax, acrylic paint.) 2015.

Ornamental plates, with a contemporary image, inspired to Greek plates. A strict personal process

has been followed in order to create these plates.

‘LE CORBU 42700’, (digital print, 240pg, A4, 50 EX.) 2015.

This book shows a selection of graffiti, photographed in the staircases of a social building designed by

Le Corbusier located in the French town Firminy.

The shown part of the archive gives another view on the building aesthetics designed by the

worldfamous architect/designer.

‘Mausoleum for the plinth of David Teniers’, (plaster, nails, wood, cement ) 2014.

The model of the existing plinth is shown with honor inside the mausoleum that is covered inside

with plaster, (reference to sculpture). In order to see the model, you have to walk over the actual

plinth.

‘Unknown Street Signs’, (mixed Media.) 2012.

On the Island of Hydra, Greece, i painted several street signs on found materials, and placed them on

the roads all over the island. These known signs get a surrealistic meaning on the island where all

motorized vehicles are forbidden.

‘Greek Heating System’, (Found copper pipes & found empty Russian caviar can.) 2015.

The Greek flag, constructed with found copper pipes, attached on the central heating system of the

space. In order to let this piece work, the other heating had to be switched on, so the space became

hot. The Russian caviar can that give support to the copper-line is again a metaphor to the

contemporary situation.
