Welcome to our Second Annual Brand Innovators Made in America Summit in Detroit!

America: “Land of the free, home of the brave” and birthplace to many of world’s greatest brands...

From Ford to Frito-Lay, from Mac Trucks to Starbucks, from Apple to Snapple, America is home to hundreds of the world’s most iconic brands. For more than two hundred years, entrepreneurs like Estée Lauder, Berry Gordy Jr., Thomas Edison, Levi Strauss, Walt Disney, Sam Walton and Steve Jobs, to name a few, have changed our lives and improved our standard of living, by inventing new and useful products that never existed before. In the process, they created iconic brands that have endured and resonated with consumers for generations. What is it about America that inspires us to innovate and invent new products, if not whole new industries, improve people’s lives, and constantly challenge the status quo? And, why have American companies excelled at marketing their products to the rest of the world, finding loyal customers in virtually every country on earth? Brand Innovators Made in America will look at the DNA behind America’s most successful brands and why these brands continue to drive the world’s economy.

Brand Innovators Made in America will also address how digital media and advertising technology — including digital video, social media, content marketing, Big Data, E-Commerce, and Internet enabled phones, tablets and automobiles — is impacting how American brands engage with their consumers worldwide.

Thank you to all of our speakers, attendees, and partners who contributed to today’s program. We invite you to participate in the discussion, and to share ideas with your fellow brand marketers in the Brand Innovators community, both during and after today’s event.

Enjoy the show and we look forward to seeing you, again, soon!

3:50 pm SOCIAL MEDIA AND THE AGE OF INFLUENCE Social media is certainly one of the most exciting and important byproducts of the digital era. For the first time ever, consumers have a voice and a platform to publicly share how they feel — good and bad — about the brands that they interact with. It has also enabled brands to identify and engage with their consumers on a 1:1 basis, 24/7. In addition, Social has provided brands with the ability to turn their most loyal and avid fans into advocates and brand ambassadors. Has social media made brands more vulnerable? How are successful brand marketers using social media to build rapport and relationships with their consumers, rather than letting social media take control of their brands? Learn how to harness the power of social media to build your brand.

True, but, who would have thought that Fortune 500 brands would become among the most important publishers of original trusted content on the worldwide web? By investing in thoughtful, insightful and engaging content, leading brands are becoming key players in the online ecosystem, educating consumers about just about everything and anything that they are interested in. Find out why owned media is the one of the fastest growing segments of the marketing and media industries and how you too can benefit from this mega-trend.
