Swing Bolts – facilitate easiermaintenance and packing replacement.

Stung Box – optional lanternrings and bleed connections available.

Bonnet Joint – joint varies withASME class rating.

Handwheel – large handwheelsfor easy operation. Also availablewith gearing, motor actuatorsor cylinder actuators for moredicult services.

Yoke sleeve – furnished in bronze to reduce operatingtorque. Most sizes furnishedwith ball bearing yoke sleeve.

Gland – two-piece gland/glandange is self-aligning to eliminatestem damage from cocked gland.

Stem – precision machined stemhas a backseat design.

Disc – heavy duty disc available inplug, ball or V-port design.

End Connections – choice of angedor butt weld ends for piping exibility.

Seat Rings – separate heavy duty, full ported rings for easy maintenance.

Body – full ported, heavy duty bodyand wall thickness for maximum service life.Provided with bosses for optional by-passesor drains.

Backseat – machined bonnet stembushing provides back-up stem seal.

Crane Nuclear cast steel bolted bonnet globe valves are designed and manufactured to provide maximum service life and dependability. Valves meet, or exceed, the design requirements of ASME B16.34. Valves are available in a complete range of body/bonnet materials and trims.

Design Features and Benefits

Range of MaterialsStandard body/bonnet materials include ten grades of carbon, low alloy and stainless steels. For special applications they can be supplied in other grades of alloy and stainless steel. There’s a full range of trim materials to match any service. Optional packing and gasket materials are available for a full range of service conditions..

Actuator FlexibilityAll valves are available with hand-wheels, gearing, electric motor actuators or pneumatic or hydraulic cylinder actuators.

Easy OperationThreaded seat rings are easily accessible for repair or replacement. Packing swing bolts on most valves simplify packing replacement. All CNI bolted bonnet designs facilitate fast disassembly.

Longer LifeRugged construction provides years of reliable service. A two piece packing gland prevents cocking and stem damage.

Cast Steel Bolted Bonnet Globe Valves

Design Features and Benefits

Disc TypesCNI globe valves are available with a choice of disc types to meet specific shutoff and throttling applications. Please request service recommendations for throttling applications.

Class 150 – The standard, circular bonnet joint is the simplest and most economical configuration for low pressure services. The male and female joint confines the gasket O.D. and I.D. Our standard gasket is corrugated metal, but flat gaskets of other materials are available when specified.

Class 300 and up – The circular male and female bonnet joint is self-aligning and encapsulates the gasket. Typical gasket types are spiral wound or double jacketed.

V-Port DiscOptional disc configuration, where more linear throttling characteristics are required. The bottom of the disc is guided by the body seat ring for maxi-mum disc stability in throttling applica-tions. Valves with V-port trim are pro-vided with non-revolving stems. Ideal for non-severe throttling service where near linear characteristics are required.

Optional Soft Seated TrimAll globe valves are available with optional soft seated disc. The molded resilient ring is bonded into a groove in the disc for maximum service life.

This design is excellent for lower temperature service where tight shutoff is required. Specify “15” in figure number system and provide customer material specifications.

Plug DiscSimplest and most economical disc type available. The disc is stem guided on all sizes. Disc has a differential angle front the seat to provide a line contact for maximum sealing. Simplest disc type for field repair.

Ball Type DiscOptional disc configuration which provides line contact between spherical disc and conical body seat. This design minimizes galling tendency with non-hardened stainless steel seats and is less likely to stick in the body seat.

Standard Bonnet JointsBody/bonnet joints on CNI valves are designed for rugged services with a more than adequate number of bonnet bolts. The standard joint varies, depending on valve class. These standard joints are shown.

Design Features and Benefits

Pressure Seal Y-Globe Valves

Seating Surface – the disc and body seating surfaces are hard faced for extended service.

Pressure Seal Design – consists of a gasket, thrustring and uncomplicated segmented retaining rings toensure maximum bonnet seal.

Stem – stainless steel stem is precision machinedfor minimal packing friction during operation.

Stem Guide – acts as anti-rotatingdevice for the stem.

Backseat – integral hard faced bonnetbackseat.

Detail A

Gland – two piece self-aligning gland and glandange eliminates cocking if packingadjustment is required.

Actuation – Hammerblow actuationmechanism is illustrated.

Yoke – the yoke features hassle-free assembly/disassembly of topworks and simple actuator mounting.

Guiding System – includes a two-piece disc assembly and hard faced body guides. The disc assembly maintains contact with the guides through the full valve stroke.

Low Pressure Drop = Low Operating Cost

Body – streamlined ow path demonstratinghigh Cv factors which minimizepressure dropacross a given system.
