Q11: Tennis Courts are badly cracked and need resurfacing. Under agreement with SRRC, BRASA is responsible for the courts. Should BRASA give the tennis club for resurfacing courts. The Beechmont Tennis Club has in excess of $20,000 in the bank from hire of the courts over the years. Currently the Tennis Club is not incorporated and cannot go for its own grants. If the grants are processed through BRASA, the amount of grants for other purposes will be minimised.

Q16: There is a lack of walkways linking residential and recreational areas on Beechmont. Councils; despite lobbying by locals over the years especially Scenic Rim have been unable to include these in their budgets. Walking is a very popular recreational activity. Do you want BRASA to support the development of these around Beechmont?

Q and A – Projects Outside Graceleigh Park

Financial Management
We have over $350,000 in the bank and with grants we have access to over $2 million on these facilities; based on grants being 80% of projects and 20% coming from our funds or voluntary labour.
The more volunteers, the less money BRASA spends from its funds.

Q18: BRASA's person power is currently very limited. Do you favour having BRASA pay people running events/facilities to raise moneys on behalf of BRASA? We feel that you cannot strongly disagree if you are not willing to provide voluntary services to BRASA!

Q19. Ideas To Raise Revenue

Craft & photographic display sale on a weekend / Beechmont history/information day

Financial Planning / Management
Financial planning involves not just finance. For an individual, one talks about the holistic approach.
What sort of lifestyle do you wish to lead?
Do you want to spend your savings before you get too old?
Do you want to give money to your kids now or when you die?
There is no ONE solution for ALL people
Powered by
Possible Investment Strategy
Jewish people believe in the following for their investments:
1/3 for long term capital growth (high income - low risk blue chip investments)
1/3 for revenue raising projects
1/3 for the home ( Term Deposits and cash for tailored maintenance fund)
Powered by
Apply this approach to BRASA
Do you want facilities to be built now? • Do you want facilities/events/functions now in order to raise money? Depositing into Bendigo Community Bank improves chance of getting
grants. So long as interest rates are comparable, why not deposit into BCB
Powered by
Q23 . Other Ideas on Fund Management
Create a financial budget and projections
A mix of term deposits & managed investment portfolios, not just Bendigo
Use funds for revenue raising projects to give much better return than low interest rates
Create a sinking fund to provision for a sustainable future
Clubs affiliated with BRASA need to be as self sufficient as possible
Camping Ground – Events – Social Club – Café – Shop – Movies and Pizza Trailer supporting and growing each other

Q19. Additional CommentsSupport (not financially) all of the individual clubs with their fundraising which will put money back into BRASA
It’s good to pay good managers. If they do it well and people have a good time, it becomes more attractive and people will want to help next time. Therefore eventually, more folks will volunteer
Camping at events should be free or minimal cost
Don't turn away opportunities by making it too difficult to use the facilities

Q24 Events which you feel that BRASA should support
RECREATION
All events put on by the users of Graceleigh Park and are affiliated with BRASA
ARTS
Carols / Anzac Day / New Years Eve celebration / Australia Day / arts events / ZestFest / music events / movie nights
SPORTS
School sports days / cricket, soccer, tennis, netball

Q28. Other Ideas / Comments
Councils change with elections. Get members to lobby their council on BRASA's behalf. We pay the rates
The fact that the GCCC maintains their facilities is great, though SRRC seems to be more proactive in providing assets
BRASA covers both councils and needs to work with each individually to get the best out of those individual assets
