Spring Practice Schedule
Braswell 7-on-7 7-on-7 competition will not define our success or failure as a football team.
We use 7-on-7 to improve the skills and chemistry of our team for Friday nights in the fall.
We see 7-on-7 as a great way for leadership to emerge among our players, therefore we typically don’t use a “coach” for the team.
The “tournament team” will have the opportunity to purchase and/or fundraise to earn a 7-on-7 jersey for summer tournaments.

Practice Expectations
Two Simple Expectations for Practice:
1. Be here on time. (Contact us if you won’t be here)
2. Give great effort in everything you do.
Philosophy of Playing Time and Team/Position Placement
J.V
The plan is to have two teams (Red and Black Teams)
Everyone makes the team
Everyone should expect to play (unless disciplinary, injury, or attendance issues prevent playing time).
Participation is of equal value to winning the game.
Not every player will receive equal playing time.
Philosophy of Playing Time and Team/Position Placement
Varsity:
One team.
Everyone makes the team.
Not everyone will always play in the varsity games.
Winning the game is of premium importance.
Philosophy of Playing Time and Team/Position Placement
Factors in determining your son’s team placement:
Varsity:*All seniors are placed on the varsity team.
*Juniors and Sophomores who are on the Varsity Two-Deep Depth Chart
*Any player who coaches feel provides an exceptional contribution
to the varsity team.
JV :
*Juniors and Sophomores not on the two deep on the varsity will placed on JV
*This is a general rule, but exceptions must be made on occasion to balance talent and position placement on each team.
Philosophy of Playing Time and Team/Position Placement
Factors in determining your son’s position assignment:
*What position gives you the best chance to get on the field?
*What position gives your team the best chance for success?
*What position do you really want to play?
-we want our kids to be motivated to play!

Our helmets are of top quality: All of our helmets are Riddell Speed Classic. (5 Star Rating by the Virginia Tech Survey) We will also be providing the newest Riddell helmet this coming year (Speed Flex)
We prefer our athletes to wear school-issued helmets and shoulder pads, unless a unique situation exists.
Hudl
Your son has access to an online video editing system called Hudl.
We will use this program to upload game video, practice video, and opponent game video each week for our athletes to study.
In addition, your son will have the opportunity to create highlights and his own profile for viewing by recruiters.
This service is paid for each year by our booster club
Media
*Newspapers, radio, and TV will be covering this program throughout the season
*The coaching staff doesn’t write the articles and rarely gets to choose the interviewees
*Our goal is to give recognition to as many players as we can
100% of the time it is meant to be positive
Social MediaWe warn our kids constantly about the dangers of social media: Twitter, Snap Chat, Instagram, etc.
*If you retweet it, you might as well have said it.
*Once it’s out, you can’t take it back.
*Words and pictures aren’t always perceived as you intend them to be.
