It's that time of the year again for our annual fundraiser with Buffalo Wild Wings. 'Join us on Heart Day during Heart Month in support of our Heart Kids!' The flyer for the event can be viewed in this newsletter as well as our web site: www.wrighthearts.org .
All greater Dayton area Buffalo Wild Wings are participating: UD (Brown St), Sugarcreek, West Carrollton, Beavercreek, Huber Heights, Springboro, Englewood, Kettering, Oxford, and Richmond, Indiana. And this year we are adding two new locations in Troy and Sidney.
This event will last ALL DAY on Tuesday, February 14th, 2012. It's real easy to participate. All you have to do is gather your family and friends, grab your flyer and go to your closest Buffalo Wild Wings and order some great food. Give your server the flyer you have brought (see page 2
of this newsletter) or just tell the server are supporting this fundraiser or Mended Little Hearts. That is all you have to do to get your sale regis-tered as part of the donation to be contributed by Buffalo Wild Wings to Mended Little Hearts of Dayton.
In order to get maximum participation from the community in our event, you can help us out by sending this newsletter to all of your fami-ly and friends. And ask them to forward it on to everyone on their con-tact list, too. We appreciate your support and your cooperation as we attempt to make this a successful event for Buffalo Wild Wings and for Mended Little Hearts of Dayton.

PROPOSED NEW GROUP: MENDED LITTLE ANGELS OF SOUTHWEST OHIO
The Dayton and Cincinnati groups of Mended Little Hearts are jointly working together to reach out to parents and families who have a CHD angel. Planning for a new group, known as Mended Little Angels of Southwest Ohio, is underway with a target start-up meeting scheduled for the 1st quarter of 2012. Families interested in participating in group formulation and planning should contact either Ron Chalecki ([email protected]) or Lisa Butler ([email protected]) as soon as possible. Your cooper-ation and support is appreciated.
At our next Mended Little Hearts meeting (Thursday, February 9th, 2012), Tere-sa Setnar from Flying Horse Farms will be our guest speaker. Teresa is the director of nursing and medical programs for the camp. She will speak to our families about the heart week they have at the camp in June. (NOTE: the June heart camp is for children ages 8-15). They also have camps in April over the week-ends which includes the younger aged children. Please mark your calendars for this informative presentation. Because of Teresa's tight schedule, we will begin precisely at 6:30pm.'
'We will also have fundraising items, such as flyers, etc and answer any questions about the Valentine's Day event. We encourage all location team captains to attend this meeting to resolve any last minute concerns. Our Mended Little Hearts of Dayton t-shirts will be available for purchase to wear at the fundraising event. And, of course, there will be a few surprises and time for support interaction.

VALENTINE'S DAY FUNDRAISER -
BUFFALO WILD WINGS
Planning actions have begun for our Tuesday, February 14th, 2012 all-day fundraiser at the twelve greater Dayton area Buffalo Wild Wings (BWW). Twelve of our MLH members have graciously volunteered to be Location Team Captains (LTC). The LTC's, assigned a BWW restaurant in their immediate living area, will assist in the marketing/advertising of the event along with MLH members (known as Team Members) who also live in the imme-diate area of the BWW restaurant. Each LTC has been assigned team members from our MLH Dayton heart family membership. Your LTC should be contacting you soon about our February event, soliciting your help and support at times during the next couple of weeks in order to make our fundraising event a success. Your assistance is vital to make sure your family and friends are aware of and participate in our fundraising event. You can help make sure your school, your church, your place of work, your YMCA, your local area businesses, etc. are apprised of our event with the flyers and posting information. And you can organize your family and friends to meet at your local BWW on Valentine's Day for lunch or dinner and enjoy the company of our heart families and our heart children. It should be a fun time for all. Come one, come all!

In late December, we were invited to the Life Connection of OHIO office to receive a donation to Mended Little Hearts of Dayton from the employees at Life Connection of OHIO (www.lifeconnectionofohio.org ). Since Life Con-nection is an organ donor group, we decided to invite a couple of our heart transplant families to participate in the receipt of the donation. In spite of the holidays, many of the Life Connection staff were also there. You will see from the pictures taken of the event that our heart transplant kids, Mya Kendrick and Brycen Dabe, stole the show with their heartful antics. And you can see from the pictures that our man, Brycen, was a tad frisky with Mya. Eve-ryone was individually blessed by the children and we, as a group, were blessed with a nice gift from the wonderful folks at Life Connection of OHIO. Thank you, Life Connection folks, for your heartfelt gift to us and for working so hard to provide the gift of life to so many people in the community. You are awesome!

Mended Little Hearts Annual Christmas Party On December 2nd, 2011, we hosted our third annual Christmas Party at the Abiding Christ Lutheran Church in Fairborn. We had a great turn out with over 90 folks attending. The Airmen at the United States Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine were generous enough to adopt our heart kids. The 23 heart kids who attended each received three gifts from the Airmen. Siblings weren’t left out as parents brought gifts for them as well. All gifts were given out by none other than Santa himself!
Other activities included cookie decorating, crafts, pictures with Santa, and of course, lots of yummy food. Also, an angel tree was included to help us remember all the CHD angels who couldn’t be with us in per-son but will always be with us in spirit.
Kohl's Associates in Action provided their usual fantastic support for our event. In addition to the church, we had many generous sponsors for this year's event: Panera, Meijer, Kroger, Ele Cakes, Chick-Fil-A, Star-bucks, Bob Evans, Cracker Barrel, Santa!, Once Upon a Child, and Dr Espeleta. Thanks to all of these won-derful folks for making the Christmas party a great event. Make sure to thank them if you ever get a chance. And lots of kudos to Matt Williams for sponsoring our group with the Air Force School and to Bekki Williams for organizing and pulling off this big successful event!!
The Christmas party provided an excellent opportunity for fun and fellowship with other CHD families. And, of course, all of the kids had a ball. We look forward to another wonderful Christmas party this year!
