RAFFLE Tickets are in high demand already. For this year’s fundraiser, we are
selling tickets for a Kawasaki Mule 4x4 and a 60” x 10’ trailer for $20.00! If you
need more or have some that you are not able to sell get with your club’s raffle
ticket chairperson. Your tickets can be distributed to other members. The top
FIVE 4-H sellers win a belt buckle! Unused tickets and proceeds must be turned
back into the 4-H office on July 12, 2016. We have a soft deadline for the clubs
on June 3, 2016.
Recordbooks due June 1st Award Interviews June 2nd Sign up for an interview time when turning in your books. Award interviews will be scheduled for June 2nd start-ing at 4:30 PM at the 4-H of-fice.

Show us how we use our Hands for larger service by turning in your Community Service Log and your Community Service Summation by July 15th. The award will be given based on club that has shown most impact towards their community. Winner will receive a Community Service Traveling Trophy. It will be handed out at the County Awards Program on July 30, 2016. Alvin 4-H has never been defeated. Who will be the winner this year? Turn in your time and find out in July.

From June 20th – 22nd the Brazoria County 4-Hers will be competing at the District Level at District 9 Horse Show at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds! You’ve worked hard all year, now’s your time to shine! Good Luck at District.
Psssstt…..hey you…….yeah you! You’ve already done the work. Now you de-serve the praise. Fill out our project completion form today and get the Na-
tional 4-H award pin for all your hard work. We will be awarding the pins and celebrating your completed projects at the awards banquet on July 30, 2016. Applicants are due to register by July 8th. You will need to submit a new entry for every project. All projects must have at least 6 experiences to be considered a project. I promise, it’s no sweat compared to all hard work you’ve already done this year!

Survivor Camp
Brazoria County 4-H Survivor Camp this year will be July 12th – 14th at Camp Mohawk in Alvin. Get
ready to come out and learn some survival skills of your own. All 4-H members entering the 3rd grade
through 8th grade are eligible campers. 4-H members entering 9th grade and above can apply to be teen
leaders. Camp is $85 a person and includes a camp t-shirt. Online registration is due by June 15th on
the county 4-H website. Pick your role and come be a part of the 4-H camp fun: Register on the 4-H
website today!
Campers - All 4-H members entering the 3rd through 8th grade
Teen Leaders - 4-H members entering 9th grade and above
Adults – parents or volunteers are needed to chaperone any or all of camp.
Poultry Order and Pickup
Deadlines:
2016 State Fair broiler orders are due to the 4-H
office June 17th. Cost per chick is $1.25 in incre-
ments of 25. You can order a max of 75. See the
Department of Poultry Science website for rules.
Ordering Broilers does not register you for the
State Fair. You will have to register separately.
State Fair Entries are Due August 9, 2016.
2017 HLSR, SSSR, STFR Turkey and Broiler infor-
mation: Rules are now available at the Depart-
ment of Poultry Science Website. There have
been some revisions in the rules so you may want
to check it out. Turkey order will be due in Au-
gust, Poultry will be due in Late September.

2017 Major Show Steer and 2016 State
Fair Goat , Lamb, Swine and Hei fers
Its validation time again. Your 2017 Major Show Steer, 2016
State Fair Goat, Lamb and Swine tags have already been or-
dered and will be held June 25th at the Brazoria County
Fairgrounds from 8:00 am to 11:00 am. Spring Heifer vali-
dation will also be held June 25th. If you purchased a new heifer and she has not been
validated under your ownership, you will need to validate her for the fall Major
shows. Heifers only need to be validated once in their lifetime as long as they do not
change ownership. If you will be showing a new heifer at spring majors, the next oppor-
tunity to validate heifers for Major Shows will be in October for the 2016-17 year.
Food and Nutrition
Food and Nutrition Workshops will be offered on the following dates this summer for
$5 a participant. Please RSVP to Cameron at your earliest convenience. If you are signing

MYOB Entrepreneur Program
Clothing and Textiles Workshops will be offered on the following dates this
summer for $5 a participant. Please RSVP to Cameron at your earliest conven-
ience. If you are signing your child up for the Clover Kid workshops please re-
member that your child will learn more if he/she has a chaperone for the work-
shop. If you are a senior 4-H member and would like to help with the Clover Kid

Minding Your Own Business Workshops will be held on the following dates
this summer for $20 a participant for all of the workshops. MYOB will be
working on creating items to sell at the Clover Corner booth in November.
We are always looking for new things to create or learn about, join MYOB to
develop new skills! RSVP to Cameron at your earliest convenience.

¨ Learn the basics of starting and growing your own busi-
ness
¨ Learn to price and market products
¨ Learn to manage the financials of a business and what to
do with the profits
¨ Learn to make a profit from minimal supplies

Save the Date! The Gulf Coast Classic and will be held on August 6th, 2016 at the Brazoria County Fairgrounds. Start looking forward to educational presentations including sessions offered for beef cattle, swine, sheep and goats. The plan is to
have three sessions per species and then one general session. Door prizes will be given throughout the sessions as well. The educational sessions will be held from 9-12 and showmanship clinics starting at 2PM. The show will begin promptly at 3PM.
We will run separate show rings for the cattle and sheep and goats to save time. The rule book and more specifics are being finalized now so be looking for those
items next month.
If you have special needs for any of the programs offered at the County or District level, please give us 10 days’ notice. We will
make every reasonable effort to accommodate your needs.
