Leadership Responsibilities, Personal Accomplishments, and Experiences During Administrative Internship Year

Mentored by two different principals (an experienced principal of twenty-plus years and a first-year principal assuming leadership in mid-year) and a veteran assistant principal of twenty plus years who served as interim principal for several weeks during the course of the 2003-04 school year. This allowed me to work under three different leadership styles and experience three leadership transitions within a school in one school year.

Served as 7th grade administrator. Completed a leadership portfolio to document my leadership experiences and

reflections over the course of my internship. Helped facilitate the opening of a new school in the Wake County Public School

System in which an entire school faculty was moved from one school to a new school for the start of the 2003-04 school year.

Witnessed the transformation of a new school culture throughout the closing months of the 2003-04 school year as staff members competed for positions at a new school to be opened the next year where our previous principal had transferred to in the middle of the school year to prepare for its opening in the 2004-05 school year.
