„Jugend Forscht“ Bundessieger 2011 im Fachge-biet „Geo- und Raumwissenschaften“

Benedikt Gröver von der Lore-Lorentz-Schule Düsseldorf konnte durch Spektralanalyse des Krebs-Nebels (M1) dessen Größe, Entfernung und Ausdehnungsgeschwindigkeit berechnen. Darüber hinaus gelang es ihm auch, die Zusam-mensetzung des Nebels zu bestimmen.

Zum Einsatz kam u.a. ein BRESSER Photo-New-ton (PN 203/800) auf einer MEADE LXD-75 Mon-tierung.

Dieser Aufbau zeigt, was mit Amateur-Teleskopen möglich ist und dass wissenschaftliche Erkennt-nisse nicht nur den professionellen Sternwarten vorbehalten sind.

„Jugend Forscht“ overall winner 2011 for earth- and space sciences

Benedikt Gröver from Lore-Lorentz-School Düs-seldorf analyzed the spectrum of the crab nebula (Messier 1) and calculated the size, distance and expansion speed. He also determined the compo-sition of the nebula.

For his work he used a BRESSER Photo Newtoni-an (PN 203/800) on a MEADE LXD-75 mount.

His setup shows the capability of amateur tele-scopes and that scientific results are not limited to professional observatories.

The right telescope for the job!The MESSIER refractor series ranges from the se-rious beginners’ refractor such as the AR-90, the

102mm and 127mm refractors to the impressive 152 mm refractor – there is always the right instru-

ment for great wide field observations, sharp views of the moon, the big planets or deep sky objects.

The reflector product line offers the right scope for eve-ryone, too. It starts with the 130mm Newtonian, which

collects much more light than the classical begin-ners’ 114mm Newtonian. The new ultra compact NT-150S with a fast aperture of f/5 is the perfect scope for wide field observations of vast nebu-

lae and star fields within our milky way. The NT-150L is optimal for take sharp views of

the solar system objects without any colour fringe. Whatever your intention may be,

the BRESSER Messier series has the right telescope for the job.

We’ve added an optical tube for the astrophotographer to the Messier series. The PN-203 is improved for astrophotography. With its

fast focal length of f/4, the preci-sion 1/10 focuser and supersized

secondary mirror (70mm small axis) this telescope is perfect for imaging large star fields and dim nebulae with big camera sensors. The combination of an optimized focal plane and supersized secondary

mirror is often very expensive – the PN-203 offers this as a standard at no extra

charge.

Vorbei sind die Zeiten, als preisbewussten Kunden der Einstieg in die Astronomie von unterdimensionierten Montierungen erschwert wurde. Die EXOS 1 mit robustem Stahlstativ trägt die angebotenen Optiken bis zu einem Gewicht von 7 kg für visuelle Beobachtung stabil und ohne Wackelei. Für noch mehr Komfort bei der Beobachtung lässt sich die Montierung mit einem Motor für die RA-Achse nach-rüsten. So behalten Sie das Himmelsobjekt immer im Okular, ohne das Teleskop von Hand dem Lauf der Sterne nachführen zu müssen.

Mount and Tripod The BRESSER Messier beginners’ series of telescopes.Within this series you find smaller optics mounted stable on the new BRESSER EXOS 1 mount. This combination means more value for money and puts an end to flimsy beginners’ scopes which discourage most of the beginners due to small, under engineered mounts. The EXOS 1 with a robust steel tripod bears optical tubes weighing up to 7kg stable for visual observation. The optional motor drive for the RA axis makes usage even more comfortable, so there is no need of manual tracking and the object is kept steadily in the field of view.

Mount and Tripod The BRESSER EXOS 2 is a rugged mount with high rigidity and precision tracking for visual observation and astrophotography. The tripod is extremely rigid to suppress vibrations really well. This model is very well machined and has an illuminated polar finder scope and precise graduated circles. A powered two-axis control (BRESSER Exos Duo) or a GoTo-Kit is available as an optional extra. The BRESSER EXOS 2 can take the weight - depending on length and use - of up to 13 kg. This allows you to use refractors of up to 152 mm aperture and mirror telescopes of up to 203 mm aperture.

BRESSER SuperPlössl-OkulareDie neuen BRESSER SuperPlössl-Okulare im 4-linsigen Design bieten gute Randschärfe im 52° großen Gesichtsfeld (40mm: 44°) und ein angenehmes Einblickverhalten. Die hochwertige Vergütung verhindert wirkungsvoll Re-flexe. Alle Okulare sind mit Gummiaugenmuschel ausgestattet. Die Okulare mit den Brennweiten 6,5 - 40 mm sind untereinander homofokal.

BRESSER Plössl-OkulareDiese Plössl-Okulare bieten eine grundlegende Verbesserung des ur-sprünglichen Plössl-Designs. Okularkonstruktionen mit fünf oder sechs Lin-sen vermindern Randunschärfe und Farbfehler deutlich und ermöglichen so ein scharfes Eigengesichtsfeld von 60° bei gleichzeitig angenehmem Einblickverhalten und großem Augenabstand. Spica 130 Das Spica Teleskop eignet sich aufgrund des Spiegel-durchmessers und der kurzen Brennweite hervorragend für die Beobachtung von großen, lichtschwachen Objekten wie z. B. der Andromeda-Galaxie oder offenen Sternhaufen und großen Gasnebeln in unserer Milchstraße. Der parabolisch geschliffene Hauptspiegel sorgt für eine außerordentliche Bildqualität.

Pollux 150 Das Pollux bietet beachtliche Leistungen bei der Beobachtung des Mondes und der Planeten. Die 150 mm Durchmesser des Hauptspiegels sorgen hier für eine sehr gute Auflösung und die 1400 mm Brennweite für eine bis zu 300-fache Vergrößerung. Mondkrater, Saturnringe oder Jupiters Wolkenbänder zeigen bereits unzählige Details.

GALAXIA Der Spiegel des Galaxia umfasst einen Durchmesser von 114 mm und ist in Kombination mit der Brennweite von 900 mm ein ideales Einstiegsteleskop. Die große Öffnung ermöglicht dem Beobachter, lichtschwache Details wesentlich einfacher zu entdecken als durch ein Teleskop mit kleinerer Öffnung. Hiermit sind bereits Details an Mond und den großen Planeten, aber auch unzählige Objekte außerhalb unseres Sonnensystems in Reichweite.

JUPITER The Jupiter is the ideal telescope for advanced entry to astronomy. The 70 mm aperture permits observation of many details on the lunar surface. Saturn‘s rings, 1.5 billion kms away, can also be observed with this telescope! LYRA The Lyra too has a 70 mm objective lens. However, in this case the 900 mm focal length yields a greater magnification range so that large objects such as the moon can be seen particularly clearly. The LED finderscope included simplifies finding objects in the sky with its red dot on the visor. QUASAR The achromatic objective lens in the Quasar collects 30% more light than a 70 mm telescope and makes more lunar detail visible. The rugged steel tubing tripod gives secure footing on almost any surface and easily and quickly set up thanks to its clever design.

TAURUS The Taurus telescope gathers a lot of light with it’s 90 mm aperture, and the 900 mm long focal length gives a sharp and brilliant picture. The NG mount can be used in azimuthal mode (for terrestrial observations) or in equatorial mode (for astronomical use). Despite its versatility, the NG mount is compact and lightweight for easy handling.

SIRIUS Auch wenn 70 mm Öffnung auf dem Papier nicht nach viel klingen, so bietet das BRESSER Sirius doch 36 % mehr Licht als ein vergleichbarer 60-mm-Refraktor. Das macht sich in der optischen Leistung bemerkbar: Auf dem Planeten Jupiter werden aus einer Entfernung von 600 Millionen km die beiden Hauptwolkenbänder sichtbar. STELLAR Das Stellar ist ein preiswertes Teleskop für den Einsteiger. Die lange Brennweite macht es zum Spezialisten für Mond- und Planetenbeobachtungen. ARCTURUS (inkl. Hartschalenkoffer) Der im Lieferumfang enthaltene Hartschalenkoffer beim Modell ARCTURUS schützt das Teleskop vor Staub und Schmutz und ist das ideale Transportmittel. Das klassische Linsensystem mit einem Durchmesser von 60 mm und einer Brennweite von 700mm liefert eine gute Abbildungsqualität. Die azimutale Montierung mit Höhenfeineinstellung und das stabile Aluminium-Stativ runden dieses Einsteiger-Paket per-fekt ab.

The telescopesThe alt-azimuth mounting of all the refractor and reflector telescopes shown here ensures an easy and quick introduction to astronomy. These telescopes are particularly suited to observing celestial bodies in our solar system such as the moon or the nearer planets. The many accessories and the astronomy software included mean beginners can rapidly achieve success.

SIRIUS When looking at the technical data, 70 mm aperture may not look too impressive. During the observation the impact of the 36 % more light gathering power in respect to a 60 mm refractor are easily visible: Details are seen more clearly in the BRESSER Sirius and from a distance of 600 million km the main cloud bands on the planet Jupiter get visible. STELLAR The Stellar telescope is excellent value for money. Its long focal length makes it a specialist for moon and planetary observations. The included LED red dot finder makes navigating to bright celestial objects a child’s play!

ARCTURUS (incl. hard-shelled case) The hard-shelled case included with this model protects the telescope against dirt and dust and is the ideal carrying means. The classical lens system with a diameter of 60 mm and a focal length of 700 mm yields excellent image quality. The alt-azimuth mounting with vertical adjustment and rugged aluminium tripod perfectly round off this beginner's set.

VENUS The Newton mirror system with its 76 mm mirror diameter is the biggest aperture in this beginner's series. By contrast with refractor telescopes no lens is used except in the eyepiece, making the VENUS image brighter and the colours more realistic.
