The Property

The challenging task of renovating the two staircases was given to Truline Stairs, a leading

manufacturer and installer of handmade staircases operating out of Dunmow. As part of the process,

SWR Balustrade were chosen to supply a glass channel system to enhance the design agreed by

Truline and the Conservation Officer.

Extensive renovation has transformed Brick Barn into a luxury modern property worth upwards of £1,000,000. The interior is light and airy throughout with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. This coupled with unique details such as vintage industrial lighting, exposed timbers and underfloor heating makes Brick Barn a truly desirable family home.

Located in Chelmsford, Brick Barn is a beautiful, recently converted Grade II listed building that dates back to the 18th Century.

Glass Channel SystemEven though Brick Barn was a listed building, the Conservation Officer wanted the glass channel system to stand out as a new addition rather than something which tries to blend in with the property. This meant a frameless application with no hand rail.

Kimberly Finch, Interior Designer at Truline, said: “I had worked with SWR before so I knew they would have something to meet my brief.”

“I sent across dimension drawings and the product was quoted the same day and emailed back. This was followed up with a phone call to talk through the quotation. Once we had purchased the product, it was delivered on time with no issue at all”.

Eye-Catching Feature

Kimberly explained that due to building regulations the staircases required hand railing. However, the glass panels supplied by SWR Balustrade complimented the system and tied the two areas together. The result is a contemporary balustrade system and an eye-catching feature of this stunning Georgian property.
