Exercises Close Bible School of Methodist Church
Friday inn iked the clone of the Methodist Vacation B1W« School and Sumlav evening the students gathered with pa ren t s and friends in a closing- demonstrat ion pro gram. At tha t time, the work Tor the week was exhibited and the fa l l to Worship, learned |(y the Juniors and Pr imary Departments said, and the special songs SUIIK
The overall theme of "Living for Jesus in the Spuce Age," with special themes for the individual depar tments was carried out, and proved exciting in many ways. Each child was an active participant, not only in listening, but in doing. Bright ly colored book and take-home projects, with scripture verses helping to make the lessons more meaningful, were taken home each day. Special handcrafts, projects and other directed activities correlated to the depar tment themes were deeply enjoyed by pupils and teachers.
The beginners depar tment , headed by Mrs. Carl McCracken, met in the Spring Valley Hook and Ladder building, which is across the street from the church. The spacious ground of the fire company was also used for several of the recreation periods.
Attendance reached its peak on Wednesday with eighty-six per cent.
Elsa Nelson and Jane t Lee Pitt had charge of the nursery; Mrs. Carl McCracken, superintendent of the beginners, was assisted by Mrs. Dohen Nelson, J ane t Murdock and Dian Pruyne . Mrs. John Kurutz, superintendent of the kindergarten, was assisted by Mrs. Clerisse McCormick and Mrs. Robert Ast-rab. Mrs. Robert Pit t , primary superintendent, was helped by Mrs. Roger Bates , Mrs. William Glover and Mrs. Earlo Hebberd. Mrs. David Carey and Mrs. Edward Shep-ard, assisted Mrs. Merton Reynolds in the junior department. Mrs. H. Vernon Rustin served as recretary, assisted by Miss Mary Ann Rustin.
The pas to r of the church. Rev. R. M. Rousset, led the worship program, assisted with the recreational activities and song fests.

The s tudents of the Yeshlva of Spring Valley were also singled out for honor by the National As sociation of Yeshivos of America "Torah Uniesorah", by winning 4(1 per cent of the National honors in a recent contest.
The valedictorian in the English Depar tment , Allen Gribetz, son oi Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Gribetz of Mousey, at tained an average of M J in the Regents examination.

Unganscher , sons of Rabbi and Mrs. Simeha Schustal ami Rabbi and Mrs. Don Ungarischer, respectively, of Mousey, delivered a casuistr ic dissertation on the Talmud. They both tied with the National Honors and were therefore (-liosen to be the valedictorian for the Hebrew Department.
Yehudis Greenbaum, daughter of Rabbi and Mrs, Bernard Greenbaum, topped her group in the Bais Yaakov Department and delivered an oration in the Hebrew language.
Ziporah Dinkels received the gold medal for school service. Janie Greenberg received a medal of honor for the second highest average in the English Department.
Other honors were given to Mel-vin Brecher. Sholomo Genauer, Ziporah Halberg, Daniel Hoffner. Robert Hoffnung, Ida Kupperman, Milton Nussbaum, Leonard Roth-stein, Leah Steinberg.

Brick Church on Summer Schedule
Services in the Reformed Church ol West Hempstead, familiarly known as the Brick Church, will continue throughout the summer.
However, there will be a t ime change. Services are to begin at 9:30 a . m . s ta r t ing with the Sacrament of Holy Communion on July 5. Regula r 1 1 a . m. worship services will resume Septetmber 13.
Jun ior and junior high members of our Sunday Church School a re urged to attend these 9:30 services. Nursery care will be provided for nursery, kindergarten and primary children in the Parish House dur ing the services. Junior sermons will r-emain part of the services as usual.
Church School was held June 28. The Church School will resume September 13th, a t 9:25 a. m.
