Brief 1, Robert Brownjohn - Blond GalleryTRANSCRIPT
Robert Brownjohn Blond Gallery Exhibition
BriefCreate an exhibition concept and related promotional material for the Marks Blond gallery. The subject of the exhibition is the life and work of the designer Robert Brownjohn.
ConceptThe exhibition explores the major works created by the designer Robert Brownjohn during his relatively short career.
In his work Brownjohn used the technique of projecting moving footage. The idea of filming projections is one gleaned from the Bauhaus and was used by Lazlo Maholy-Nagy a former tutor or Brownjohn in his early constructivist films of the 1920s.
Taking inspiration from this, the exhibition uses projection to display the major works created by the designer. The information leaflet available explains the works in more depth. The context for the promotional material is around the city in local independent galleries and appropriate promotional locations.
