A Brief History of Cameras

I wanted to create my own paper size, thus I knew binding could be an issue.

Unfortunately after ringing several company’s I wasn't able to find a resolution. Did not want to design the publication, then having to rush the binding process.

Folding camera gave me the idea of using a concertina fold.

Restricted to A2 back-to-back. Therefore I have chosen to break the publication up into chapters.

Printing slot booked in the dungeon for May 1.

Considered screen printing the publication, but decided against it due to the images and size.

The concertina could either be por-trait or landscape. Decided to choose landscape pages, thus publication will open up downwards.

As the chapters go on, there are less folding pages.

All the paper sizes will be different which may look inconsistent and will not bring the publication together.

The dates are clealy visible making access to each chapter easy.

I have changed the paper sizes, however I have still made sure reading the chap-ter titles is easy.

All paper sizes are now the same, which will help me keep a consistent layout.

The only downfall is that as I con-tinue to add chapters the title area carry on increasing. Also depending on what stock I use it may not be sturdy.

I felt that it was better I kept the pa-pers the same size as it would enable the publication to fit together.

Each chapter will be double sided, meaning I could have two titles within each concertina folded chapter.

Following the Leica camera’s debut in 1925, the Contax entered the market in 1932. It differed from the Leica in many ways, beginning with its brick-shaped body. In addition the removable back meant loading a film was much easier than the Leica. The ridged wheel next to the shutter button made it easy to focus quickly and make the ex-posure. The metal focal plane that moved had a top speed of 1/1000 second, twice as fast as its rival Leica. The Contax used a 35mm film or special cassettes.
