Main Task Evaluation

The coursework all adds to 100

For the main part of the main task 10 marks are for the ancillary with the other 40 for the practical film

The things to watch out for are when I come to write my eval-uation I must work on my re-flective skills.

What – For my practical section of A2 I am able to create one of two options; a music video or a short film (The short will need to be 5 minutes long).

The examiners are looking for…

• The examiners will look for whether I can accurately plan and construct media products using appropriate technical and creative skills. (A03)

• Secondly they have to be able to understand the knowledge and understanding in evaluating our own work, this also includes showing how meanings and responses are created. (A02)

• Finally the examiner has to assess my ability to undertake, apply and present appropriate research. (A04)

Key skills

• When making, planning and evaluating my A2 media work, I have certain things to acknowledge, these being:• Genre• Representation • Audience• Narrative• Media language

Decision

• For my A2 practical coursework I have chosen to create a short film, there are two reasons for this; one being the fact that I love films and can watch them endlessly, and the second being based around what I believe – I feel that you can portray much more media production skills in a short film, this is because the script is not already set allowing a short film to be more creative leading to more opportunities.
