User Progress - Course Access progress indicator | NewA Course Access progress indicator is now included in the User Progress tool, indicating the days on which a course was accessed. The progress indicator is available from the Course Access Progress Indicator page and the Course Access overview page within the Summary. Download States for content modules, course files, and for all content are available within Content Progress.

Previously, these features required the purchase of Brightspace Insights, but they are now available within the core Brightspace platform.



Learners and instructors can review a summary view of the Course Access for a learner.

Brightspace Degree Compass

Brightspace Degree Compass™ | NewBrightspace Degree Compass is a personalized course recommendation tool that helps advisors and learners plan the most optimal path to graduation using predictive analytics. The tool taps into a volume of historical data which enables the predictive algorithm to guide learners to select courses in a way that improves academic success and drives on-time degree completion.

No disruption to existing tools or workflow.

Brightspace Degree Compass is a standalone D2L product that does not require D2L Learning Environment; however, Brightspace Degree Compass does require connectivity into the institution’s Student Information System (SIS) and degree audit module or application.

Brightspace Degree Compass is hosted in Amazon Web Services™ (AWS).

At this time, Brightspace Degree Compass is available in English for North American (U.S. and Canada) clients only.

Brightspace Degree Compass does not depend on any microservices, role permissions, or configuration variables.

The Brightspace Degree Compass algorithm combines a student’s academic history with the historical grade data of all learners who have taken the same degree path and generates a personalized set of recommended courses to assist both advisors and learners in course selection.

Brightspace Degree Compass supports the following Student Information Systems:

Fixed IssuesBulk Course Configuration

PRB0051096Previously, when images were embedded into an HTML editor location in a question, they were not included when questions were exported from Question Library to a D2L export package when including course files in the export package.

Now, those images are included when you export questions from Question Library to a D2L export package.

Found in D2L Learning Environment 10.5.6.

To reproduce this fix:

1. Create a question in Question Library.

2. Using the HTML Editor, embed an image by uploading or selecting one from course files.

3. Export this question to a D2L export package via Edit Course > Import/Export/Copy Components > Select Components > Question Library question(s) (ensure that Include course files in the export package is selected).

4. Do one of the following:

Import the package into a new course.

Open the zip file.

5. Observe that the images are included.

PRB0051386Previously, when you copied dropbox folders and groups, the associations between the dropbox folders and groups were inaccurate.

Now, when you copy dropbox folders and groups, their associations are copied over accurately.


PRB0051387Previously, when you copied selected dropbox folders and grades, different grades were associated with your dropbox folders.

Now, when you copy selected dropbox folders and grades, grade associations are preserved.





1. In D2L Learning Environment create three grade items.

2. Create three dropbox folders, associating each one with a grade item.

3. Copy all dropbox folders but selected grade items.

4. Observe that the dropbox folders are copied and the grade associations are accurate.

Conditional Release

PRB0051043Previously, when you tried to attach an existing release condition from a course that had more than fifty release conditions based on grade items, the Browse or Attach Existing Conditions pop-up window would open and you would encounter a 500 Timeout error.

Now, when you try to attach a release condition from a course that has more than fifty release conditions based on grade items, the Browse or Attach Existing Conditions pop-up window opens and loads the list of conditions.

Found in Brightspace platform 10.3.0.

Config Variable Browser

PRB0047761Previously, when you selected an option from the side bar in the Config Variable Browser, you returned to the top of the page when the page was refreshed with your selection. As a result, you needed to scroll down through the options to select another option.

Now, when you select an option from the side bar, the page is refreshed with your selection but the view on the side bar remains as expected.



1. In the Config Variable Browser, select an option from the side bar.

2. Observe that the page is refreshed with your selection and the view on the side bar remains as expected.



Content

PRB0049582Previously, an invalid template path in the Content tool broke HTML content creation and editing.

Now, in the Content tool, if the default path for HTML templates is set to something invalid, like a subdirectory that does not exist, creating or editing content files does not trigger an error.



1. Log in to an instance of D2L Learning Environment 10.5.0 or higher.

2. Set the d2l.Tools.Content.EnableHTMLTemplates config variable to ON for the organization value.

3. Set the d2l.Tools.Content.TemplatePath config variable to an invalid path.

4. Navigate to Content > Settings > Content authoring > HTML Templates.

5. Observe that the Enable HTML Templates check box is selected and Template Path = the non-existent path you set the d2l.Tools.Content.TemplatePath config variable to in step 3.

6. Create and edit an HTML file.

7. Observe that you do not encounter an error.

PRB0048403Previously, when you edited a content HTML file that was created in a subfolder that was two or more levels deep, you encountered a duplicate file error message.

Now, you can edit content HTML files that reside in a subfolder that is two or more levels deep and you do not encounter an incorrect duplicate file error message.



1. In D2L Learning Environment create a new course with content path /content/a.

2. Navigate to the new course and create a new content HTML file.

3. Change the path of the new file to /content/a/b/c/yourhtmlfilename.html.

4. Update the file.

5. Update the file a second time.

6. Observe that you can update the HTML file as expected.



Data Purge

PRB0051463Previously, when you used Data Purge on an instance of D2L Learning Environment, and set a system purge date, D2L ePortfolio objects were purged regardless of their creation date.

Now, when you use Data Purge on an instance of D2L Learning Environment and set a system purge date, only D2L ePortfolio items older than that purge date are deleted.


Discussions

PRB0051155Previously, when you copied a discussion forum within the same course and then deleted the release conditions in the copied discussion forum, the release conditions in the original forum were also deleted.

Now, when you copy a discussion forum within the same course and then delete the release conditions in the copied discussion forum, the release conditions in the original forum remain intact.


PRB0051404Previously, when you called the PUT, POST, and DELETE actions in the Discussions API, you encountered an error.

Now, the Discussions API has been fixed and the PUT, POST, and DELETE actions function as expected.


Dropbox

PRB0047011Previously, when you tried to add dropbox feedback files in bulk and you needed to select which feedback file belonged to which user, and if sections or groups existed, you could not alter the page size to display more than 10 users, or search for a user, or navigate to another page of users without experiencing an issue.

Now, you can add dropbox files in bulk and select which feedback file belongs to which user by displaying more than 10 users on a page, searching for a user, or navigating to another page of users without an error.





1. Navigate to a course and create a dropbox folder.

2. Enroll one user into the course.

3. Impersonate the user, and upload a submission.

4. Access the dropbox folder and click Add Feedback Files.

5. Click on the file name that you want to distribute and then do one of the following:

Change the page size from 10 to 20.

Search for a user.

Navigate to the next page of user names if you have more than 10 users enrolled in the course.

6. Observe that an error does not occur.

PRB0048122Previously, in Dropbox, the Publish Feedback button did not update the timestamp on a submission that had draft feedback.

Now, when you click the Publish Feedback button, the timestamp is updated, as expected.



1. Create a dropbox folder in a course.

2. As a learner, submit a file to the dropbox folder.

3. As the course instructor, click the submitted file to evaluate it.

4. Enter some feedback and save the feedback as draft.

5. Click Back to Folder Submissions and on the Folder Submissions page, take note of the timestamp for when the draft feedback was saved.

6. Click the Select all rows checkbox to select all users' submissions and then click Publish Feedback.

7. Observe that the timestamp was updated, as expected.

PRB0050726Previously, when you tried to upload bulk feedback files using a Mac, you encountered an error and the files did not attach successfully.



Now, you can successfully upload bulk feedback zip files into dropbox folders using a Mac when the following configuration variables contain backslashes to denote subdirectories:

Grades

PRB0050260Previously, when users with a large classlist made a call with the POST /d2l/api/le/(version)/(orgUnitId)/grades/final/calculated/all API, it failed and they received a timeout error.

Now, users can set the default value of the d2l.Tools.Grades.MaxRecordProcessingCount config variable to 2000 and make calls with the POST /d2l/api/le/(version)/(orgUnitId)/grades/final/calculated/all API as expected.

Found in D2L Learning Environment 10.3.0 SP15.

PRB0051039Previously, when you tried to import or copy a course with grade items at the org level, it caused performance issues.

Now, when you either import or copy a course at the org level, grade items in the package are no longer allowed, since the Grades tool is not applicable at the org level.


Holding Tank

PRB0051369Previously, when you used Holding Tank XML files that contained Document Type Definition (DTD) declarations in the Student Information System (SIS) import process, you encountered a DTD is prohibited error.

Now, Holding Tank XML files that contain DTD declarations no longer cause errors in the SIS import process. The DTD tags are ignored.




Integrations

PRB0051218Previously, when you used IPSIS to enroll a new cascading user or change the org level role of a cascading user, you might have encountered a timeout error.

Now, when you use IPSIS to enroll a new cascading user or change the org level role of a cascading user, the user is enrolled as expected.



1. Using IPSIS, enroll a new user into a cascading role at the org level.

2. Observe that the user is enrolled as expected.

PRB0051312Previously, IPSIS enrollments using the institution role mapping type Other were not functional.

Now, you can use IPSIS to enroll users using the institution role mapping type Other as expected.


D2L Learning Repository

PRB0050200Previously, quizzes that contained reports could not be imported from D2L Learning Repository into D2L Learning Environment.

Now, you can import quizzes that contain reports from D2L Learning Repository into D2L Learning Environment.

Found in D2L Learning Repository 10.5.0.


1. Create a quiz.

2. In the Reports Setup tab, click Add Report.

3. Name and use any Report Type.

4. Publish the report to the D2L Learning Repository

5. From D2L Learning Environment, try to retrieve the quiz.

6. Observe that the quiz is imported as expected.



Navigation and Themes

PRB0051429Previously, screen readers could not navigate the minibar flyouts with ease.

Now, the flyouts in the minibar have been modified to use the aria-haspopup Document Object Model (DOM) property and screen readers can navigate through the flyouts as expected.


Quizzes

PRB0050655Previously, images attached to quiz sections were purged even if they were used by another course that was not being deleted.

Now, images attached to quiz sections are not purged when they are used by another course that is not being deleted.



1. Create a quiz within a course.

2. Create a section within that course and add an image.

3. Create another course, and copy the contents of the first course into the second course.

4. Purge the data for one of the two courses.

5. In the other course, observe that the shared image in the quiz is not purged and the link is not broken.

PRB0051730In some cases, quiz questions and content items using MathJax JavaScript did not display as expected.

Now, MathJax Javascript that is not inserted using HTML Editor displays as expected in quiz questions and content items.


Role Switch



PRB0050426Previously, if there was a 404 File Not Found error (for example, a missing image) on a course home page, an instructor attempting to switch his role to view a course as a learner was reverted to an instructor role.

Now, an instructor can switch his role on a course home page that contains a 404 File Not Found error and the role switch works as expected.



1. Create a widget item in a course that contains an image.

2. Delete the image from the system using Manage Files.

3. As an instructor, navigate to the course home page and observe the broken image link.

4. Switch roles to impersonate a learner.

5. Navigate away from the home page.

6. Observe that the role switched as expected.


Brightspace Platform 10.6.0Known Issues

Known IssuesD2L is committed to releasing high quality products that perform as expected. To keep you informed about the product issues most likely to impact your environment, the Known Issues List consists of newly discovered and commonly reported issues that can be consistently reproduced by D2L.

At this time, we are focusing efforts on decreasing the backlog of known issues that have yet to be shared with clients. As a result, an increased number of items will be included on the Known Issues List in this and upcoming releases. For more information on when an issue was first reported, see the Found in statement in the issue description.

Bulk Course Configuration

PRB0049269When exporting a quiz to a zip file, including questions containing images in the question text and selecting the Include course files in the export package option prevent the image files from being included in the zip file.

As a workaround, when you export a quiz and select Select All, or Content and Quizzes, and begin the export. The file images are included in the zip file.


To reproduce this issue:

1. Create a quiz containing at least one question with an image in the question text (not as an attachment).

2. Save the quiz.

3. Navigate to the Import/Export/Copy Components tool.

4. Choose the Export option with the Include course files in the export package option selected.

5. Click Start.

6. Select Quizzes and begin the export.

7. Import the zip package into another course, and preview the quiz.

8. Observe that the image is broken because the image file from Manage Files was not included in the export package.

9. Unzip the zip package and observe that the file image is not present.



Calendar

PRB0051302In some cases, when you access the agenda view of the Calendar tool at the organization level, and you don't have the View Course Content permission, you might experience an error when you view content module calendar items.



1. Ensure there is a user with a role that is able to see the calendar at the org level but that doesn't have the View Course Content permission at the org level.

2. Enroll that user in a course.

3. Create a module with a Start Date, Due Date, or End Date that is a few days from the current date.

4. Impersonate the user.

5. Go to Calendar at the org level.

6. Click the Agenda tab.

7. If the agenda view includes the date that you set in the module, observe that an error occurs because you don't have permission to view the content at the org level.

PRB0047996When adding a recurrence for an attendee that is a group or section, the Recurrence Ending date defaults to 2025 and not the current year.

Content

5. Navigate through the content again. Notice the page no longer responds to click events.

Course Conversion

Course Management

8. Repeat steps 1 - 6 using Firefox or Chrome instead of Internet Explorer and notice that the path is defined when you reach step 7.

2. In a dropbox folder containing multiple submissions, download all submissions.

3. Unzip the downloaded file.

4. Add feedback to the files, as if you were evaluating the dropbox submissions.

5. Zip the files.

6. On the Folder Submissions page, click Add Feedback Files and upload the .zip file.

7. Observe that there are a larger number of files than you would expect, and there are several files that are not recognized by the Dropbox tool.



PRB0051051For dropbox folders that have the Turnitin LTI integration enabled and that use GradeMark reports, the GradeMark icon does not display to learners for published feedback unless a score is entered within Turnitin by the instructor.

As a workaround, enter a score directly in the GradeMark report in Turnitin to allow learners to see the GradeMark report. Alternatively, learners can view their originality score, if available, to see their GradeMark comments.


Email

PRB0051098If you are trying to email larger classes using either internal or external mail, the email might not send in a reasonable amount of time.


PRB0051376Images added to the body of email messages using Insert Stuff do not display when you access the Email tool through a course, but do display when you access the Email tool from the organization homepage.

As a workaround, add images to email messages as attached files.



1. Log in to D2L Learning Environment as an instructor.

2. Compose an email and using Insert Stuff, insert an image.

3. Send the email to a learner in one of your classes.

4. View your sent message and notice that the image does not display in the Message Preview area.

5. Browse to the org homepage, access Email, and view your sent message.

6. Observe that the image is visible in the Message Preview area. The same behavior exists for the learner who received the email message.



D2L ePortfolio

PRB0050978In some cases, if a learner tries to delete a rubric from an ePortfolio presentation that has been assessed by another learner, an internal error occurs. Additionally, the rubric is deleted but the assessment might remain.

Found in D2L ePortfolio 10.5.4.

PRB0048400When an instructor tries to export, import, or copy an D2L ePortfolio form to another course or within the same course, the new form contains two or more instances of each field on the form.

1. Log in to D2L Learning Environment as an instructor and create an D2L ePortfolio form.

2. Add two form fields and click Save.

3. Log in to D2L Learning Environment as a learner.

4. Create a new form response.

5. Log in to D2L Learning Environment as an instructor and edit the form.

6. Modify one of the fields. This saves a new version of the form.

7. Export the form and observe multiple instances of all fields.

External Learning Tools

PRB0051381External Learning Tools (LTI) links do not generate the correct OAuth signatures when parameters differ by uppercase compared to lowercase letters.



1. Create an LTI link, for example, http://pdextlamp02/lti/index.php.

2. Modify the LTI link URL to have two parameters with alternate capitalization, for example, http://pdextlamp02/lti/index.php?toolname=Object&toolName=Objects.

3. Add the LTI link as a content item to a course.



4. Follow the LTI link and observe that an incorrect OAuth signature is generated and thus, the signatures don't match.

PRB0047985There is a character limit in the database that restricts the LTI Custom Property Keys to 100 characters. As a result, some entries may be truncated and duplicate keys may exist in the database.



1. Import an LTI link that contains a custom parameter with more than 100 characters in the key.

2. Click Edit Course > External Learning Tool and select the link you imported.

3. Observe that the extra trailing characters in the key are truncated.

PRB0047986In some cases, the length of LTI links is inconsistent depending on the method used to create the link. The user interface does not indicate that the value of custom parameters is required. As a result, zero length values are not allowed in the custom parameter field

1. Import an LTI link that has a custom parameter with an empty value.

2. Navigate to Edit Course > External Learning Tools and select the link you just imported.

3. Attempt to change the title of the link and click Save.

Grades

PRB0051327In some cases, calculated grades with more than three digits do not save and an error occurs because a comma is introduced.

As a workaround, when the value in the Final Adjusted Grade > Grade field contains a comma, delete the comma and re-save to address the error.





1. Access the Grades tool in a course in D2L Learning Environment.

2. Create a numeric grade item and in the Maximum Points field, enter 1001.

3. Click Save and Close.

4. Click Settings.

5. In the Calculation Options tab, under Auto Update, select Automatically keep final grades updated.

6. Click Save.

7. Enroll a learner into the course.

8. Give the learner a grade score of 1000.999 for the grade item you created.

9. Access Account Settings and in the Account Settings tab, from the Number Format drop-down, select 1234567.890 (so that grades don't contain commas).

10. Go back to Grades in the course.

11. From the Final Adjusted Grade context menu, select Enter Grades.

12. On the Final Grades page, click the green arrow to push the value in the Final Calculated Grade > Grade area into the Final Adjusted Grade > Grade area.

13. Click Save.

14. Observe an error message indicating that there were 3 errors found in the information you submitted:

Final Adjusted Grade numerator value for <user> must be a valid number.

Final Adjusted Grade denominator value for <user> must be a valid number.

Enter a non-zero denominator.

15. Delete the comma from the fields with errors and re-save to address this issue.

HTML Editor

Integrations

PRB0051127If you are in a time zone other than EST and you use IPSIS to send a CSV file to create a course that contains a start and end date, the start and end dates adjust to EST.

As a workaround, offset the time values in the input CSV file to EST so they are correct when they're converted to your current time zone.


PRB0051161Existing Equella quicklinks in copied courses display the {OrgUnitId} of the old courses resulting in authorization errors for learners and instructors in the copied courses.

Intelligent Agents

PRB0051094Emails sent by an Intelligent Agent with the plain text option enabled might contain the <!DOCTYPE html> tag.



1. Access an instance of D2L Learning Environment that has the Email tool configured.

2. Go to Intelligent Agents and create a new Agent.

3. Select Agent is enabled.

4. Create a release condition for Classlist > Role in Current Org Unit and set the Condition Details to Enrolled as > Student.

5. On the New Agent page, under Email Format, select Plain text.

6. Enter a recipient, a subject, and some text in the message body.


8. On the Agent List page, from the context menu of the Agent you created, select Run Now.

9. Check the email you specified and notice that the message includes <!DOCTYPE html> before your typed message.

Navigation and Themes

Personal Dashboard

Quizzes

PRB0051326When viewing quiz statistics, if you apply date filters the results display on the page with the date filters applied, but when you export them to a CSV file all of the results are included regardless of the date filters applied.



1. In D2L Learning Environment, access a course that has learners enrolled in it.

2. Create a quiz and ensure it is active.

3. Impersonate the learners enrolled in the course and take the quiz over multiple days.

4. As an instructor, from the context menu of the quiz you created, select Statistics.

5. In the Question Details tab, without setting dates to filter by, click Apply and take note of the results on the page.

6. Click Export to CSV file.

7. Open the CSV fie and take note of the results.

8. Set the date filters to the date that at least one learner took the quiz and click Apply. Take note of the results on the page.

9. Click Export to CSV file and look at the results in the file.

10. Notice that the CSV file generated is the same as the one generated in step 6 and doesn't consider the date filters applied.

PRB0044404In some cases, a user might be unable to see the graphic grid when printing a quiz report. The axis division is not displayed.





1. Log in to D2L Learning Environment as an instructor.

2. Go to a course and create a quiz.

3. On the Report Setup tab, click Add report.

PRB0048430In some cases, in Quizzes, when an instructor changes the number of questions per quiz attempt, they receive an error.



1. Within a course, access Quizzes and create a quiz and some sample questions. Save the quiz.

3. On the Assessment page, ensure that the Allow automatic export to grades check box is deselected.

9. Observe that a SQL timeout error occurs.

Release Conditions

PRB0051382If you turn off a tool for an organization level org unit, release conditions might be affected for other org units in the organization.



1. Access D2L Learning Environment as an administrator.

2. From the Admin Tools menu, click Org Unit Editor.

3. On the Org Unit Editor page, for the organization level org unit, click Edit Course.

4. In the Administration section, click Tools.

5. On the Tool Status page for the org unit, turn off tools such as Content, Discussions, and Dropbox.

6. Access a specific course in your organization.

7. In the course's Content tool, create a new module.



8. Add a newly created release condition.

9. From the Condition Type drop-down, observe that under the name of the tools you disabled, there are no options available.

10. From Edit Course, go to the current course's Tool Status page and note that the tools you disabled at the organization level are enabled here, and therefore options should display for release conditions pertaining to those tools.

Role Switch

PRB0051217When you use Role Switch to view D2L Learning Environment as a user in a role that doesn't have access to draft content items, files referencing draft content topics are included in the content module's downloaded .zip file. When you impersonate a user in this type of role, files referencing draft content items aren't included in the downloaded .zip file, as expected.



1. As an instructor, create a content module in your course.

2. Create two topics in the module, and set one of the topics to draft.

3. Use Role Switch to view D2L Learning Environment as a learner would see it.

4. As a learner, in Content, select the module that contains the topics you (the instructor) just created.

5. Click Download.

6. Open the downloaded .zip file.

7. Note that the file referencing the draft topic is included.

8. Stop viewing as a learner and return to viewing as your instructor role.

9. Impersonate a learner in your course and repeat steps 4 to 6.

10. In the downloaded .zip file, observe that there isn't a file referencing the draft topic, as expected.



Surveys

PRB0050104When a user takes a survey, their attempt is recorded in the survey event log as per that specific attempt. The reviewing user then has the ability to review the log of that attempt and specify if they want to review the user's IP as they take different steps (starting, saving, submitting, completing) through the survey.

As a result, surveys do not correctly use the configuration value set in d2l.System.Infrastructure.ForwardingIpAdd.



1. Log into D2L Learning Environment as an administrator.

2. Set a forwarding IP value for d2l.System.Infrastructure.ForwardingIpAddresses.

3. In Admin Tools, click Course Management, and create a course.

4. In Admin Tools, click Users and create a test user with a student org enrollment.

5. On the context menu for that user, select Manage User Enrollments.

6. Search for the course you created and enroll that user into the course as a student.

7. Navigate to the course and access the Surveys tool.

8. Create a new survey and add one or two questions.

9. Set the survey as Active.

10. Navigate to the Classlist tool and impersonate the student user.

11. Take the survey you created.

12. Save all questions and click Submit.

13. As the administrator, navigate to the Surveys tool.

14. From the context menu for the survey, select Statistics.

15. In the Attempt tab, select the title link of the attempt you just made.

16. Click on Survey Event Log and select the Show IP check box.

17. Observe the change in IP between the entry, question saving, page saving, and survey completion activities. All activities list the IP that is set for the d2l.System.Infrastructure.ForwardingIpAddresses variable and not the IPs of the end user completing the survey.



User Management

PRB0051208In some cases, when you perform a search in User Management for users who logged in on or after a specific date, unexpected users are returned because the dates are based on UTC regardless of your current time zone.


PRB0042995When you use the API call PUT /d2l/api/lp/1.3/users/(userid) to update user information, the call can return a 400 error if you have incorrectly input an existing username.



1. In <product_brightspace_LE>, create a user.

2. Create an API call to PUT /d2l/api/lp/1.3/users/(testuserid) but specify an incorrect case for any character in the username.

3. Observe the 400 – Invalid user data provided error.

PRB0050768While using Chrome and impersonating a user in D2L Learning Environment, if you select Prevent this page from creating additional dialogs in the dialog that appears, subsequent pop-ups do not display, and some functionality is negatively impacted in D2L Learning Environment.



1. Access Account Settings.

2. Under Dialog Setting, select Pop-ups.


4. Go to Users.

5. Select the option to impersonate a user.

6. In the dialog that displays, click Cancel.

7. Select the option to impersonate a user again.

8. In the dialog, select Prevent this page from creating additional dialogs.



9. Click OK.

10. Stop impersonating the user.

11. Return to Users.

12. Select the option to impersonate a user.

13. Observe that a pop-up does not display so you cannot initiate the impersonation.

User Progress

PRB0050271Only 10 quiz attempts are shown for a single quiz in the User Progress tool.



1. In a course, create a quiz with a single question in a test course and ensure that it has unlimited attempts and is active.

2. Enroll a Learner into the course.

3. Impersonate the learner and take the quiz 11 times.

4. Go to the User Progress tool and view the student's progress for quizzes.

5. Click on the details of the quiz and notice that you can only see up to attempt 10. The 11th attempt is missing and there is no way to view it, or any subsequent attempts.

D2L Valence

PRB0051297The Final Grade values are not returned with D2L Valence when none of the Student View Display Options (Points grade, Weighted grade, Grade scheme symbol, or Grade scheme color) are selected.

As a workaround, select any one of the Student View Display Options and the Final Grade values are returned.




Widgets

PRB0048630In some cases, the My Courses widget does not filter courses with multiple departments as expected.

1. In the Admin Tools menu, use the Org Unit Editor to create three departments.

2. In Course Management, create two templates, and add them to two of the departments.

3. Create two courses using the two templates as parents.

4. Add the My Courses widget to the homepage of the courses.

5. On the courses' homepage, customize the widget to have a department filter.

6. Enroll a user in both courses with a role that can see the My Courses widget at the course offering level.

7. In the Org Unit Editor, edit the first template to the third department as a second parent.

8. Impersonate the user you created and navigate to one of the courses.

9. Observe that when the department filter is set to All, both courses appear as expected.

10. Observe that when the department filter is set to the second department, only the second course appears.

11. Observe that when the department filter is set to the first department, the widget displays No Courses Found.
