CULTIVATING STEWARDSHIP: Agriculture in Alberta Grade 7 and CTF
Students will explore the who, what and why of agriculture in Alberta and the balance between a growing population and sustainable agriculture practices.
ELEMENTARY JUNIOR HIGH SENIOR HIGH
Based on our pillars of multiple perspectives and critical thinking, we will engage students in an interactive exploration of Alberta’s environment and natural resources. Classroom programs are typically 1 hour and available province-wide at no-cost.

ELECTRICITY IN ALBERTA Grade 5
Examine electricity from a Canadian perspective and learn how electricity is made, moved and connected to how we live, work and play.
ENERGY AND THE ENVIRONMENT Science 10/30 and CTS
Using Inside Education’s Energy Dialogues resource we will explore the relationship between Alberta’s energy industry and our natural environment. STSE connections.
WATER QUALITY SCIENCE AND MONITORING Biology 20/30 and Science 20
Take your aquatic study to the next level by contributing to the development of a province wide community-based monitoring program. Your students will have the opportunity to perform DNA extraction and analysis to assess a water sample for invasive species, algal blooms and more! Together will evaluate the impact of water quality on ecosystems and human health.
THE FUTURE OF AGRICULTURE IN ALBERTA Science/Social Studies 10 and CTS
Learn how a changing climate will influence our food, water and energy systems. Students will explore how science, innovation and stewardship can help meet our growing population needs while maintaining ecological integrity.
ALBERTA'S WATERSHEDS Grade 8
Inside Education will guide your students through the physical, chemical and biological characteristics of water while discussing how water quality and quantity are influenced by human actions. Learn about watersheds and a local water body while contributing to the development of a province wide community-based monitoring program.
SOLAR LANTERN BUILDING CHALLENGE Grade 9
Evaluate the efficiency and environmental considerations of energy sources for the production of electricity. Includes an interactive presentation and solar lantern building workshop.
CLEAN AIR RESPONSIBLE SCHOOLS (C.A.R.S) Grade 5
This inquiry based program will allow students to learn about air quality, emissions and climate change while exploring ways to be stewards of the air quality in their own community.
THE CHEMISTRY OF AIR Grade 9
This interactive presentation will explore how natural and human factors influence local air quality. We will demonstrate how Alberta collects and evaluates air quality data for the health of both people and the environment.
ALBERTA’S FORESTS Grade 6
This program will guide your students through a thoughtful exploration of the social, economic and environmental values that shape our forest landscape.
ENERGY EXPO Grades 3-7
This action-packed program will energize students as we explore a wide range of topics including renewable energy, oil sands, energy efficiency and conservation, electricity generation and more!
