The Snapchat Geofilter

Snapchat has found a new platform for

content marketing and brand engagement. In February, Snapchat changed the game by adding the option for anyone to create a filter. Dubbed the ‘geofilter,’ this new tool allows users to design their own themes around their own events.

As the name suggests, geofilters are restricted for use in a limited geography, often by city or regional district. Geofilter-able events include office parties, birthdays, and weddings.

In just a couple of months, the geofilter service has seen massive success, with businesses shelling out more than $1,000 per event to make their geofilters available to event attendees.
