Brinton’s Drama Club, with a cast of many students, demonstrated their art of storytelling by putting on our

annual play three times on February 20th. The student’s ability of making us laugh through their voice and

movements has shown that these students are budding actors and actresses in the making. Many thanks to

Mrs. Calise, Ms. Pena, Ms. Chavez and Mrs. Maxwell for all the hard work they have done with these talent-

ed students and to Mr. Wheaton for making props for the show.

COOPERATION

January's Student of the Month

If your student is at Brinton on a boundary

exception and you would like for him or her

to continue with us next school year, be sure

to complete a new Boundary Exception Form

and return it to the office at your earliest con-

venience. We are required to have a new

request on file for each child for each school

year. As we start working on class place-

ments for next year, it will be very helpful for

us to know which students will not be return-

ing to Brinton.

5th Grade Wax Museum

5th grades annual Wax Museum was a hit once again with many wonderful enactments of famous people

from the past. Many students rehearsed their parts and dressed in character which made a lasting impres-

sion for the audience. Lots of work went into their reports and for many, their extra work really showed.

As we approach spring time in the valley of the sun,

don't forget how important it is to stay hydrated. As

children are outside playing they lose moisture that

needs to be replaced. On another note...we have

seen quite a bit of illness lately so here is a good re-

minder------ The

number one way

to keep sickness

at bay is through

good hand wash-

ing. Here is what

we teach at

school.

We are pleased to offer Kindergarten Boot Camp

again this July for incoming Kindergarten students. This is a great opportunity for students to get to

know the kindergarten teachers, master the layout

of the school and learn some cool stuff too! Parents

of incoming kindergarten students - be on the

lookout for more information to come to you via

mail in the near future.

Mesa Unified School District #4 • Operations Department

555 South Lewis Street, Mesa, AZ 85210

Date: February 2020

To: Parents, Guardians and Employees of Mesa Unified School District #4

From: Keith Bonkoski – Maintenance Supervisor/Asbestos Coordinator

Subject: Asbestos Awareness and Management Plan

The Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) requires all private and public

elementary and secondary schools to inspect for asbestos containing materials in school

buildings. The AHERA protocol also states that the Local Education Agency (LEA) perform a

three-year inspection, and every six months a site surveillance inspection, and to provide

notification to all parties concerned of any changes or updates. Parent and employee

notifications must be made on a yearly basis. During the school year there may be asbestos

removed from this site if a response action is required or if there are renovations.

The Mesa Public Schools Management Plans are available for review at the Operations Building

located at 555 South Lewis Street in Mesa. Your site specific Management Plan is located at

each school/site Administration Office.

Although some material containing asbestos might be found at your site, it presents no health

hazard to students or staff. This material is inspected every six months, as stated.

If you have any questions concerning this matter, please contact me at 480-472- 6014.

Thank you,

Keith Bonkoski

Mesa Unified School District #4 • Operations Department

555 South Lewis Street, Mesa, AZ 85210

Gracias,

Keith Bonkoski
