Positive buying is favouring ethical products, be they fair trade, organic or cruelty free. This option is arguably the most important since it directly supports progressive companies. Negative purchasing means avoiding products you disapprove of such as battery eggs or polluting cars.

• Now it is actually quite difficult to buy any teabags that are not somehow 'ethically' certified.

• 70% of all consumers were interested in buying ethical products in 1989

• Unfortunately by the year 2000 ethical products had only gained a 5% market share.

• In 2013 big growth areas were under the RSPCA's Freedom Foods label (up 37%) and in Rainforest Alliance certified foods (up 47%), Overall, this research has shown that UK sales of ethical products grew from £9.6bn in 2009 to £54.4bn in 2012.

• Throughout the years, Bristol has changed rapidly. From little local shops, to the galleries in 1991, to The Mall (Cribbs Causeway) in 1998 and finally Cabot Circus in 2008.

• We believe that this has and will continue to create a positive impact on Bristol in the future.
