Rules
1. Entries will be accepted only from members of the British Cactus and Succulent Society.
2. There is no limit to the number of entries per class, the entries being free. Entries must bemade on the official form and sent to:Mr J M Stansbie, 76 Bransford Avenue, Coventry, CV4 7EB.Entries must reach Mr Stansbie not later than 11 August 2016.WITHOUT EXCEPTION, NO ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THAT DATE.
3. In classes 134, 135 and 136, entries will be accepted only from Junior members of the Society.
4. The Judges are permitted to exhibit in classes other than those they are judging, at thediscretion of the National Show Committee.
5. The Judges may, at their discretion, withhold any award in any class where they consider thestandard of the exhibits to be too low.
6. Judging will be in accordance with the Rules and Recommendations as laid down in theBCSS Handbook of Shows 10th Edition.
7. The classification of plants shall, for the purposes of this show, be that given in theBCSS Handbook of Shows 10th Edition.
8. Subject to rule 5 minimum prize-monies in classes 1–136 will be as follows:1st Prize £72nd Prize £53rd Prize £3
9. The Society’s Challenge Trophies will be awarded as indicated in this schedule. Gold Medalsand National Diplomas will be awarded by a panel of Judges. A Keith Grantham Silver Medalwill be awarded to the exhibitor gaining the most points in classes 1 to 60 and to the exhibitorgaining the most points in classes 61 to 130, the points allocated being as follows:

10. Any objection to the judging must be submitted in writing to the Show Secretary, accompaniedby a fee of £10, before 1.30pm on 20 August 2016. The fee will be returned if your objectionis upheld.
11. All entries must be staged by 10.00am on 20 August 2016. The placing of entries on thebenches will be under the directions of the stewards appointed by the National ShowCommittee. By 10.15am on the day of the show all exhibitors must leave the show hall.During judging only persons authorised by the National Show Committee will be present.
12. Plants must be the property of the exhibitor.
13. Exhibits may not be removed from the show bench on 20 August until authorised by the ShowManagers. This will not be later than 6.00pm and may be slightly earlier, depending oncircumstances, but the hall must be cleared by 7.00pm.
14. The National Show Committee accepts no responsibility for the safety of plants or otherpersonal property. All reasonable precautions against theft and damage will be taken, but all exhibits will be staged at their owner’s risk.
15. Show/sales area entry will be by a wrist band ONLY, bought either on the day or prior to theshow. (Show entrants will be a given a free one on acceptance of their entry.) This must be worn visibly at all times to gain entry to these areas.
16. Entry in the Show constitutes acceptance of the rules.

Collections
131. A Thematic Exhibit of Cacti and/or Succulents in a space 610mm x 610mm.
Each entry for this class will consist of a number of plants in separate pots, illustrating a
theme, which may be geographical or botanical. Each entry will include a card on which
the title is clearly written together with any additional explanatory information. This class
will be judged as a collection.

made, designed or adapted from any material. (To be judged by the top awards panelplus the President of the BCSS as an observer.) PLEASE NOTE: This is a special class and points gained in this class will not be added
to those gained in the rest of the show classes.

Awards and Trophies
An RHS Banksian Medal will be awarded to the exhibitor gaining the most points in the show
provided that exhibitor has not won a Banksian Medal at any BCSS show in the 2 years prior
to this show, in which case the Medal will not be awarded.
A BCSS National Diploma and a Gold Medal will be awarded to the Best Cactus and to the
Best Succulent in the show.
BCSS Gold Medals will be awarded to other plants of outstanding quality.
A Keith Grantham Silver Medal will be awarded to the exhibitor gaining the most points in
Classes 1 to 60 and to the exhibitor gaining most points in Classes 61 to 130.
The following perpetual challenge trophies will be awarded.

Society to qualifying contestants after the day of the show.
DIRECTIONS
The Wood Green Animal Shelter is on the A1198 and just off the A14 near
Huntingdon, Cambs. Approaching from either the A14 north (A1/M1) or the A14 at
Huntingdon, it is approximately 1.5 miles from the A14 and is signed at the A14 for
Wood Green Animal Centre/Godmanchester, A1198. The wind turbine, which is at the
site, can be seen clearly from the A14 from either direction.
