The Britstream range of hoods has been developed after years of “in the field”research and development of kitchen hoods. Apart from this real-world in-put,we have extensively tested & retested products at our own facility in LeamingtonSpa as well as sponsoring many external test procedures on various components.The result of all this work is a hood system based around a group of modularisedcomponents which can be configured in multiple ways to create, what to allintents and purposes is a bespoke product. All parts have been designed toachieve a predetermined performance but are specifically not over-engineered.The combination of these properties provides a consistently high quality product,with great flexibility of application and at extremely competitive prices.
• Aesthetics are a priority during design, so all Britstream products look better, cleaner, brighter & proportionallycorrect for the environment.
• Functional efficiency is paramount and our product range incorporates innovative concepts which help reduceonward running costs in a myriad of ways.
• The range has been carefully designed to provide integral rigidity and to be self supporting - even whendisassembled for transportation, so reducing the risks of damage in-transit.

Grease filtrationAll Britstream hoods are equipped withSuperstream grease filters as standard.Possibly the single-most important aspect ofany kitchen ventilation hood, is the greasefiltration; poor filtration drastically increasesfire risk & maintenance requirements. Forthis reason, all Britstream canopies utiliseour own highly developed ranges of eitherSuperstream or Ultrastream grease filterpanels. These have been tested in Germanyto VDI 2052-1 and returned exceptionalresults at all particle sizes (up to 100% at5.6 microns) but especially at smallerparticle sizes (up to 70% at 3.5 microns)where most grease carry-over is caused andwhere most other filters fail.
LightingWe have developed the “Britlux” range oflight fittings which encompass everythingthat is important to modern kitcheninstallations; stylish, flush-fitting, low-energy, highfrequency, white-light, T5lamps & ballasts. Each twin fitting has ahinged, sealed, toughened stippled-glassdiffuser with drop down reflector and lamparray for ease of replacement, maintenanceand for access above the canopy duringinstallation. All lights are prewired to ajunction box on the canopy and multiplelights are connected using prewired bi-pinmoulded plugs to facilitate easy build-upafter delivery. All lights are 240V 50Hz andlamp wattages are listed in the catalogueagainst the hood of your choice.
Supply-air DiffusersSupply-air is typically delivered through thefront, outward facing valance of the hood. Wehave developed a recessed, perforateddiffuser panel arrangement with integralfiltration to aid air distribution across the fullarea of the panel. The panels are thentastefully mounted within the front valanceand trimmed above and below by a slimbevelled edge formed from the valance itself.Each panel is easily removed for maintenanceand replacement and to gain access duringthe installation process.
Spot CoolingFor all supply-air applications as standard,fully adjustable spot cooling is incorporatedfor operator comfort. This directional air isdelivered via smart, matt-black, ABS-mouldedterminals in the lower front edge of the hood.Each terminal is easily removed formaintenance & replacement.
MaterialsHood assemblies are manufactured from type304 stainless steel. All visible surfaces are finegrain satin polished to meet food hygienestandards. By special agreement, we canmanufacture from other stainless steel sheetmaterials. Plenum ceilings are manufacturedfrom zinc coated mild steel unless specified tothe contrary.

Where the suspended ceiling or visible structure of a building finishes clear abovethe top edge of a hood, Britannia can supply specially manufactured vertical infillsto close the gap. Simply specify the number of sides which you require infilled andstate the depth of the infill in millimetres.
Horizontal Infills to wall or between hoods (HI)
Where the hood finishes short of a wall or where you need to fill a space betweentwo hoods, Britannia can supply specially manufactured horizontal infills to closethe gap. Simply specify whether you require front and/or bottom and/or rear infillsand state the width of the infill in millimetres.
Splash-BacksWhere a canopy fits back to a wall, the wall surface behind the canopy can beprotected using a Britannia Splash-back. Our splash-backs are manufactured in astiffened tray-form with hidden fixings to create an attractive, resilient, smooth &easily cleaned surface. Available in full-height & half-height options, all we require isa height & length dimension for each area.

In the modern working kitchen, it is good practice to enclose the services which feed your cooking equipmentwithin a Services Distribution Unit or “SDU”. Each SDU comprises a spine to distribute horizontal servicesrunning behind the equipment and usually a riser to shroud services dropping from high level. They areavailable in single sided (for wall ranges) or double sided (for island ranges). Here we offer a simple,aesthetically pleasing fabrication to mount & distribute your gas water and electricity at a very reasonable price.

Heydal is the fully demountable ventilated ceiling system that provides aclean line of sight within the kitchen. The fully maintained system iseasily reconfigured to allow for modified cooking equipment layouts.
