About the Organizers
The Host Institute
Founded in 1917 by the great educationist and philanthropist, Rai Kedar Nath, Ramjas College is one of the oldest colleges of Delhi, offering degrees in the liberal arts and the sciences. It is an offspring of Ramjas Foundation (that runs schools and educational institutions in Delhi), founded by Rai Kedar Nath in 1912 in memory of his father Lala Ramjas Mal. The College today boasts of a spacious campus, a state-of-the-art infrastructure and an esteemed faculty trained at leading universities in India and abroad. The campus is beautiful, green and pollution free and part of the sprawling campus of the University of Delhi. The college houses the registered office of the Indian Society for History of Mathematics (ISHM) and is globally known for organizing national and international conferences, workshops and symposiums on history of mathematics, nanotechnology and many other areas.
Indian Society for History of Mathematics
Indian Society for History of Mathematics (ISHM) was founded by Late Professor Udita Narayana Singh in the year 1978. The Society aims to promote studies in History of Mathematical Sciences, and to create awareness in the community about the subject, providing a forum for exposition of ideas by way of organizing periodic national and international meetings on the subject. The ISHM has also been bringing out its Bulletin, Ganita Bharati, ever since inception. For more details on the activities of the Society, please refer to the website www.indianshm.com.
