Clough works with some of the world’s largest energy and resources companies to engineer, construct, commission and maintain a comprehensive range of infrastructure. The company’s full project lifecycle delivery model reduces risk and optimises safety, productivity and cost across every phase of a project.

Established in 1919, Clough’s services are underpinned by a dedication to project delivery excellence that has spanned over 95 years. Today the company employs a workforce of nearly 4000 people.

OUR PARENT COMPANIESClough Murray & Roberts Marine has been established to leverage the significant synergies across two leading engineering and construction businesses – Clough Limited, headquartered in Australia, and Murray & Roberts, with head offices in South Africa. The companies have been working together since Murray & Roberts first acquired shares in Clough in 2004. In 2013, Clough became a wholly owned subsidiary of Murray & Roberts.

Murray & Roberts is South Africa’s leading engineering and construction services company. It has delivered infrastructure throughout South and Southern Africa for more than 110 years and is today recognised as an international engineering and construction group. Murray & Roberts is a group of world-class companies and brands aligned to the same purpose and vision, and guided by the same set of values. The group employs a workforce of over 30,000 people.

FULL PROJECT

LIFECYCLE SOLUTIONSCMR Marine reduces project risk by providing a complete engineering and construction solution that spans the project lifecycle. We engineer with a constructability mindset, optimising safety, productivity and cost across every phase of a project.

This project execution expertise has been developed through our work on some of the world’s most logistically challenging marine projects.

Our full project lifecycle solutions are underpinned by an enduring commitment to Zero Harm, innovative systems and technology, in-house EPC services, global resources and a suite of productivity initiatives.

CMR Marine is committed to raising the bar on marine project safety performance. Drawing on over 50 years’ experience in oil and gas project execution, our Target Zero safety program takes a full project lifecycle view on safety – from process safety design and constructability in design through to execution and operations.

We employ behavioural based safety programs, leading indicators and a Major Accident Prevention (MAP) program to lock in safety learnings and proactively manage risks on every project.

While our safety performance leads the marine infrastructure industry, we continue to work towards our vision of Zero Harm to our people, the environment and the communities in which we work.

INNOVATIVE SYSTEMS & TECHNOLOGYCMR Marine uses the latest engineering technology to maximise the value from engineering deliverables across the project lifecycle. Our engineers have significant experience and capability in the use of Intergraph’s SmartPlant Enterprise suite while our systems, procedures and workflows enable effective and efficient project management, cost control and concurrent, multi-discipline design.

By utilising 3D modelling and intelligent design systems (Smart 3D), we maximise the benefits of data integration throughout the engineering, fabrication and construction phases of our projects. We utilise Cloud technology enabling engineering workshare across our global offices.

CMR’s Marine’s Management System contains the policies, standards, procedures and tools to ensure all work is executed in a consistent and systematic way. This system provides the knowledge base that controls individual deviations, locks in lessons learnt and allows CMR Marine to continuously improve our execution performance.

PRODUCTIVIT Y ENHANCING EQUIPMENT Enhancing productivity is at the core of our business model. As a result we have developed productivity enhancing construction equipment to ensure projects are delivered safely and on schedule, whilst minimising the environmental impact of our work. An example of some of the construction equipment that has been utilised on our parent companies’ projects includes:

- Cantilever bridge (CLB)

- Beam Placing Side Loader (BPSL)

- Under Bridge Access Platform (UBAP)

- Dolphin Piling Template (DPT)

- Jack Up Barge

- Raker Piling Setup (RPS)

Under Bridge Access Platform (UBAP) - Mobile access platform to support access from land. This mitigates the reliance on marine spread

Dolphin Piling Template (DPT) - Improves pile installation tolerances for dolphin head alignment.

Beam Placing Side Loader (BPSL) - Land based equipment which places T beams, reduces double handling, loads and unloads itself and is fully manoeuvrable via SPMT’s.

Raker Piling Setup (RPS) - A hydraulically operated piling gate that aligns a raker pile at the correct angle. Very useful in high tidal ranges and currents.

Page 11: Brochure CMR Marine

Cantilever bridge (CLB) - A travelling work platform that progressively installs piles, headstocks and roadways from shore side. Enhances safety and productivity without sea state restrictions.

Transport Barge - Utilised throughout execution, for transportation of construction assets.

Jack Up Barge - A fixed work platform providing a flexible work location which is not sea-state dependent.

CONSTRUCTION

EFFICIENCYOur clients are calling for better productivity performance. CMR Marine is responding by setting the industry benchmark for productivity, by driving performance, not just reporting it.

We deploy metrics and systems to provide daily real time reporting on productivity performance. Through ClearViewTM proprietary software, CMR Marine will deliver productivity reports that make our project and construction managers accountable for driving project performance.

Reports include a detailed summary of critical path progress against plan, including HSE performance, schedule, productive and non-productive time, cost and potential productivity or safety issues that could impact project performance. These detailed reports enable early detection and intervention, if productivity issues arise.

DESIGN TO

CONSTRUCTCMR Marine uses innovative engineering and nine decades of construction expertise to design and construct fit for purpose marine facilities.

Our success lies in our integrated approach to project design and construction. Our engineering and construction teams work closely throughout the full project lifecycle, from proposal development through to implementation.

This approach maximises efficiency and reduces interfaces to deliver optimal time and cost outcomes to our clients.
