Partici- pating museums include the Honolulu Academy of the Arts, Lyon Arbore- tum and The Lyman Museum and Mission House. For more information on Blue Star Museums visit www.BlueStarFam.org/ BlueStarMuseums . FOCUS Deployment Club September 8-29 - Kalakaua Community Center FOCUS (Families Overcoming Under Stress) is hosting a Deployment Club for children 5-12 starting September 8 at 3:30 pm. This four part work- shop will teach participants skills to cope with separation of a deployed parent, strategies for thinking before acting, stress reduction techniques and tools for challenges of living in a military family. Registration is re- quired, call 257-7774 or email [email protected] by September 1. For more information on FOCUS visit www.focusproject.org . Stephen Siller Tunnel to Tower Run Pearl Harbor September 11 - Ford Island. Volunteers and runners are in- vited to participate in the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Tower Run on Septem- ber 11 at 7:00 am on the historic Ford Island. The Tunnel to Towers Foun- dation continues to follow Stephen's footsteps to do good for those in need. Honoring his heroic life and death, the lives of his 342 brothers, all who perished on 9/11 and those Service Members who continue to fight. Proceeds will benefit The Stephen Siller Foundation, USA Cares Hawaii Chapter and the Tripler Fisher House. Upcoming Blue Star Event

Big R: Hale Koa Luau September 26 - Hale Koa Hotel

Join your Blue Star Card friends on an amazing adventure through the islands of Polynesia to celebrate another month of deployment complete on Monday, September 26, from 5:30 - 9:30 pm at the Hale Koa Hotel’s Luau! Enjoy the splendor and spectacle of ancient traditions while participating in cultural demonstrations from around the Pacific. There will also be live Hawaiian music and an authentic imu ceremony. You will enjoy a bountiful feast that infuses both authentic Hawaiian and local favorites. This will be followed by the spectacular luau show hosted by Glen Medeiros. The Hale Koa Hotel is offering Blue Star Card holders a special rate for this show. Adult (18 & older) ticket prices are only $30 and all children (17 & younger) are FREE courtesy the Blue Star Card program and a generous donation from the Fisher House! Also provided are resource services, support groups, reading to the children,

area for your FRG meetings to be held, large children’s play area equipped

with games, crafts, toys, chalkboard wall, etc., and a comfortable sitting area

for families and friends.

The FSC is equipped to handle just about any situation that may arise due to

deployment. The Chaplain and MFLC are here for counseling services. The

3BCT FRSA is available to answer questions or address concerns pertaining to

Family Readiness. The Brigade S1 is there to handle administrative issues. The

NCOIC is there for soldier support and or soldier related issues. And the chil-

dren’s play room is here just for FUN! Also, please contact us to utilize our fa-

cility for your FRG meetings and functions.
