County fair competition is separate from state fair competition. County winners DO NOT automatically advance to the state fair. Entry deadline for state fair is July 1. For more information call the Extension Of-fice, 812-988-5495. Entries are open to all residents of Brown County or members of a Brown County organization. Entries can be made in each class of any section. Where specific rules apply, they will be noted under individual categories. Miscellaneous is only for the ar-ticles where there is no specific category. (More than one entry may be made in Miscellaneous providing they are different.) Entries must be completed or grown by the ex-hibitor since the previous Brown County Fair (except photography). The 4-H Fair Association will not be responsible for any exhibit. However, hostesses will be on duty to protect exhibits. All exhibits (except floriculture, gardening, food preparation and food preservation) must be entered Saturday, July 24 from 10 a.m. to noon. Late entries can be made Monday, July 26 from 9-10 a.m. All floriculture and gardening, food preservation and food preparation exhibits must be entered Mon-day, July 26 from 10 a.m. to noon. If an exhibitor earns their livelihood or makes $1,200 or more in a year in an individual section they wish to enter, a “P” will be added to their section num-ber to indicate they are a professional. This is to make the judge aware of their experience in comparison with an amateur exhibitor. Exhibits must be claimed Saturday, July 31 be-tween 2 and 5 p.m. Exhibits CANNOT be removed between the time of official entry and release. Exhibits will NOT be released before 2 p.m. The 4-H Fair As-sociation is not responsible for exhibits left after re-lease time.
