U.S. Technical Advisory Group to ISO Technical Committee 130 (USTAG) Roster 2018

SCOPEThe USTAG to ISO TC 130 identifies Technical Experts to represent the United States at ISO TC 130 meetings. In addition, the TAG is responsible for distributing ISO documents to members of the U.S. printing and publishing industry for review for the purpose of developing the U.S. consensus position on the work, and advising the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) on the appropriate action.

§ ISO/TC 130 resolves, at the request of WG 3, to change the title of ISO/PWI 21328 from "Graphic technology – Standard ink set for multi-colour printing" to "Graphic technology – Requirements for multi-colour printing”.

§ ISO/TC 130 resolves, at the request of WG 3, to delete ISO/CD 12647-2 Amd 1 "Graphic technology – Process control for the production of half-tone colour separations, proof and production prints – Part 2: Offset lithographic processes – Amendment 1”. To be a call to action for the US (and Canada!) Print communities – we need to get out ahead of what we want the next version of 12647-2 to be, which includes how to deal with paper brighteners more intelligently.

§ ISO/TC 130 resolves, at the request of WG 3, to initiate work at stage 30.00 (CD) to revise ISO 12647-6 "Graphic technology – Process control for the production of half-tone colour separations, proofs and production prints – Part 6: Flexographic printing”. The scope of ISO 12647-6:2012 will not be changed by the revision. Target dates: Default timeframe (36 months). The proposed project leader is Steve Smiley.

§ ISO/TC 130 resolves, at the request of WG 3, to change the title of ISO/TS 15311 series from "Graphic technology – Requirements for printed matter for commercial and industrial production" to "Graphic technology – Print quality requirements for printed matter”.

§ ISO/TC 130 resolves, at the request of WG 4, to add a preliminary work item (PWI) for the development of an international standard entitled "Graphic Technology – Ink opacity”.

§ ISO 15311-2 to , Graphic Technology — Print quality requirements for printed matter—Part 2: Commercial print applications utilizing digital printing technologies Please note: the US objected to this title change at the last WG3 meeting in Indonesia.
