Facts Project DescriptionContract for detailed design and engineering, procurement and construction for a 120,000m³ liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage tank in Lumut, Brunei Darussalam.The project is a further extension of the first natural gas liquefaction plant in the WesternPacific Area, established in the early 70’s.Between 1991 - 1994, DYWIDAG LNG Technology designed and built in Brunei the firsttwo full containment LNG storage tanks with an outer prestressed concrete “shell”.The alternative proposal to improve the ground conditions in the tank area by 1,328 stonecolumns, has already been executed successfully.The detailed design and engineering works are well advanced. The reinforcement works ofthe 77.90 m diameter concrete bottom slab are completed.The first structural concrete, produced by on site batching facilities, was poured in June2013. The main civil works will be completed in the first quarter of 2014. Commissioningand start up, upon construction of the inner tank, was completed in May 2015.
