Darussalam Enterprise (DARe)

Darussalam Enterprise (DARe) is a Statutory Body

that was formed in February 2016 to nurture and

support business enterprises from start-up to

growth.

DARe’s initiatives include providing capacity

building programmes, market access, access to

financing as well as developing and managing

Brunei Darussalam’s industrial sites to support the

growth of businesses.

Available Sites for Foreign Direct Investors (FDI)

DARe works closely with the Brunei Economic Development

Board (BEDB), FDI Action and Support Centre (FAST) and

other relevant Government Agencies to facilitate the

implementation of investors’ project.

Under the DARe’s Industrial Site Management (ISM) Team,

DARe provides and manages 26 Industrial Parks to cater to

the development of businesses and economy of Brunei

Darussalam.

Meeting The Needs of FDI Projects

Under ISM, DARe has continued to develop key infrastructure

based on the needs of FDI investors within the designated

industrial parks.

This includes infrastructure development projects such as

the upgrade of roads, utilities and the construction of major

infrastructures.

Company Profile

Brunei Methanol Company Sdn Bhd (BMC) is a joint venture company between Mitsubishi Gas

Chemical Company, Inc., PetroleumBRUNEI and ITOCHU Corporation. BMC is Brunei Darussalam’s

first downstream chemical manufacturing plant with a nameplate capacity of 2,500 metric tons per

day of Federal Grade AA Methanol.

Current Status: In operation

Investment Amount: USD$567million

Employment: 208 (93% Local)

SC Tubular Solutions (B) Sdn Bhd (Subsidiary of Sumitomo Corporation Group) & VAM®BRN is a

joint venture that specialize in Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG) threading and services related

to oil & gas industries. VAM®BRN is a joint venture between Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal

Corporation, Sumitomo Corporation Group and Vallourec Tubes S.A.S.

Current Status: In operation

Location: Salambigar

Site Area: 10Ha

Investment Amount: USD$58million

Employment: 174 (83% Local)

MC Biotech Sdn Bhd is Japanese company focus on the cultivation of Astaxanthin and the

production of microalgae. MC Biotech shareholders include Mitsubishi Corporation and Nissui

(Nippon Suisan).

Current Status: In operation

Site Area: 3.4Ha

Investment Amount: US$12million

Employment: 29 (90% Local)
