Beginner Pine Needle Basket Weaving
Location: Sunnyside Community Building, 221 Village Rd. Shallotte
Ages: 18 and up
Pine Needle Basket Weaving
Learn the fine art of pine needle basketry by a professional instructor originally from Charleston, SC and who has been weaving and creating baskets for over 25 years. Pine needle basketry was practiced by the Seminole, Cherokee and Cushatta tribes for centuries and is a tradi-tion of coiling grasses and pine needles. In this class, a long-leaf pine needle basket will be created using seashells, sand dollars, and other
fun items as the base or center of the basket. Beginners will complete a small basket in two 3 hour sessions.
Cost per participant is $55 which includes all supplies. Each participant will take home one basket.

This class is for moms and moms with little ones. Each class is a total body workout that includes cardio, strength, toning, and stretching. YCOA Cheer classes provide a great learning experience for all studentswhile promoting competitive spirit, selfconfidence and fun!
Young Champions combines pom & cheerleading into one program. Students are taught cheerleading techniques such as cheers and chants with arm motions, jumps, kicks, stunting basics and teamwork.
Students are also taught dance routines and other dance techniques, using poms as necessary to visually enhance the choreography.
We have incorporated the most modern and current dance techniques into our curriculum, and have devel-oped teaching methods that work best for children and teens.
