Concentrated Bullsheet Hello to you all out there in Subaru 4wd land hope you are well. I am talking to you using the latest technological break through, from my hotel room in the USA. That’s right it is just like I am right there with you...what will the wiz kids come up with next? The June meeting is extra special not only is it being held at our major advertisers EBLEN SUBAU’s show room but Paul Ewins will be chairing the meeting. Thanks mate. See page eight for more details. EBLENS has kindly donated a prize for the June raffle and are using their kitchen to make good coffee for after the meeting, but please still bring a supper to share and wear your club shirt/hat if you have one. If you have been in hole for the last couple of months and not seen the next page, the AGM is in July. The last couple of years nominations for the committee and trophies has been stagnant, please don't rely on someone else making nomina-tions, make sure you have your say on who you want to lead your club and is worthy of an award for their efforts over the last year. Like I said at the beginning of my page, here I am in Bath, no not “the bath” that would be rude!! But in Bath, state of Maine in the North East of the USA, visiting Bath Iron Works ship yard to see how these guys make ships. Boy it’s a big ship yard in a beautiful piece of country side. Anyway, I miss you all, specially Theresa and the kids. Have fun at the special meeting at Eblens and I am sure that I will see you along the fence line soon. Cheers Shinksy

Boarder Track Trip Report

We met Wayne, Pam, Rosemary and Chris and Tailem Bend and 9.00am Saturday morning and after grabbing a bag of ice and few other last minute things we made our way for Pinnaroo. 5km south of Pinnaroo we turned right down Rosy Pine road and headed for the pine hut soak camp ground, once arriving their we paid our camping fees at the self regis-tration bay and headed into the camp ground to setup out camp. After setting up camp we had some lunch and then headed off for a drive, we headed to scorpion springs and then we ventured into the big desert state forest for a short drive, this was a great drive and another one I’ll add to the list for another trip in the future. We got back to camp just before 5 and quickly got the fire going and broke out the pre dinner snacks; we had a great night sitting round the fire speaking about the day’s adventure and what was to follow Sunday. Sunday morning we woke up to a cold and frosty start to the day, after having break-fast we headed off to tackle the boarder track, we made our way down the centre track before cutting back through on the Nanam well track. We decided to stop and

go for a walk to well to have a look at the well. After stopping for a walk a few photo opportuni-ties we got back into our cars and continued on. Once on the one way section we started to tackle the sand hills, the sand hills had some big holes but the sand was pretty hard so we were able to crawl over most of them. We stopped again at Hensley Trigg for some more photo opportuni-ties. After stopping and finding a spot for lunch we came across the last two hills which are quite challenging, I was first to attempt the first of the two hills, at the base of the hill there was quite a nasty hole, I slowed a little and as I hit I heard this almighty crash, stopping to investigate what it was I found that the force of the bump had

at the base of the hill there was quite a nasty hole, I heard this almighty crash, the force of the bump caused my camp chair to hit the side window pop-ping the whole window out onto the side of the track!

caused one of my camp chairs to hit the side cargo window and thus popping the whole window out onto the side of the track. After stopping to pick up my window off the track, I reversed back and took the other track. It took everyone a few goes to get over and after conquering that hill we soon came across the last challenge for the day. I had a couple of goes at the last hill but after losing a window I wasn’t that keen on pushing the car too hard so we decided to take the easier track. Shortly after the last two hills we turned back onto the centre track and headed back to camp to get the fire going and have some tea. Wayne was nice enough to give me an old windscreen shade and some duct tape which we used to board up the window so I could drive home the next day. Monday morning Rosemary discovered that she had a nail in one of her rear tyres so Wayne took the opportunity to show her how to change a tyre in the bush. We had a lazy start to the day before packing up and leaving just before lunch.

I would like to thank Wayne, Pam, Rosemary and Chris for coming along we had a great time and can’t wait to get back there again. I big thanks to Wayne as well for helping me out with getting my window covered up for the drive home.
