FROM THE SHED

Apologies for this slightly truncated and “compendium” issue. Blame the Christmas season and some hassles with helping my daughter move out of a rental property in Bleak City.

On the member front, not so good news from one of our Vice-Captains, Ken, who isn’t traveling too well at the moment. President Peter is keeping a close eye on him and watching out for predators after Ken’s one-owner A10GF. Hope Ken is up and mobile again soon.

Page 13 has the draft six-month upcoming run schedule, but with the recent weather, it pays to watch Craig’s emails and the Yahoo site for changes.

Lastly, the Ed moved the N*****n from open plate to logbook status and found it very easy and much cheaper! Looks like a welcome scheme, as long as RMS don’t start to ramp up the prices or invent regulatory wrinkles.

Shiny side up,Mebbo the Ed

PRESIDENT’S REPORT

BSA MCC of NSW Inc AGM 5th November, 2015

First, a warm welcome to all of you attending the BSA Club Annual General Meeting.

I will keep this Report short, but most importantly, I would like to thank all of the Committee and all our members in general, for all their support and assistance over the previous twelve (12) months. While the Club has been a little ‘quiet’, for want of better words, your continuing support of the BSA Club will ensure that we all, as a Club, move forward and continue to support the BSA marque wherever possible. There have been any number of people working behind the scenes to assist the Club and my thanks to all of you.

The past year has seen a major change in the way the RMS is looking at the whole historic and classic vehicle situation. These changes will affect our various members and each member will have a choice if they accept the RMS changes, but these changes do not affect the existing Club ride requirements and are an additional ‘trial’ log only.

Additionally this year, the existing Committee has had contact with the Norton Owners Club of NSW regarding the possibility of a combined ‘Show Day’ for 2016.I am hoping that the new Committee will move forward with this proposal.

As President, I have put forward a proposal that the Club nominate a position in the Committee ranks of Welfare Officer. This position can be an adjunct to an existing Committee position and gives all members a contact if and when they may require assistance. In most small clubs, this position is not a ‘permanent’ one, but is attached to an existing Committee role with a very broad and flexible definition to the role. Again, I would hope that the new Committee will move forward with this proposal.

I hope that those that attended the rides during the past year enjoyed these days and hope that next year’s planned events will be set by the Ride Committee as soon as possible after the AGM.

The 2017 National Rally would appear to be on track with Cowra firming as the event location. Again, I hope that there are members that can assist on either a permanent, or temporary, help basis to keep this event on schedule. Being a relatively small Club compared to our interstate affiliates, we need people to step up to assist to ensure, as always, we supply a quality event. We have a number of ‘key’ people away this week as they will be attending the National Rally in the Clare Valley. Hopefully getting some good ideas!

In closing, I would like to repeat my words from last year thus…in that I have been proud to be President of the BSA Club of NSW for the past year. There are many items, events and resolutions that we all have to deal with. While all our members are individuals, and we see that in their choices of BSA bike, I believe we all strive to ensure the continued success of the Club and in so doing, the continued success of the BSA marque.I wish the incoming Committee all the best for 2016 and look forward to my continuing association with the Club.

Respectively submitted,

Peter Wilson,President, BSA MCC of NSW Inc.
