Mobile Number Portability (MNP) is the facility for users to switch to any mobile operator in

the same Licensed Service Area (LSA), while retaining their existing mobile number.

The users of 2G & 3G Prepaid, 2G & 3G Post-paid (GSM/CDMA ) can port (switch) the number.

SIM card and all services on the mobile connection will change and will be provided by BSNL.

Port in means getting into & Port out means getting out of. Port-in Charges is „Nil‟ in BSNL.

But the SIM Cost, Activation Charges etc will be applicable for Prepaid & Post-paid.

Steps for availing MNP

I. Contact the nearest BSNL Office.

II. Obtain UPC (Unique Porting Code) by sending SMS “PORT <10 digit Mob number>”

from the mobile number you want to port to the number „1900‟.

III. Read the eligibility conditions in Porting form

IV. Fill up the CAF & Porting Form and submit to the BSNL Office.

V. Obtain the new SIM Card.

VI. The date & time of porting will be intimated to you.

VII. Change over takes place after 15 days only.
