Abstract: The present study investigates that the Human Resource Development (HRD) practices influencing job satisfaction with special reference to BSNL, Indore Division. The human resource management is a function which is mainly concerned with people at work and with their relationship within the organization. HRD Practices using variables such as Recruitment and Selection, Training and Development, Appraisal and Reward, Performance Management, Managing people, Promotion and Transfer, Compensation management and welfare measure, Employee health and safety, Industrial relations its Relationship. The human resource management function has emerged as one of the most important areas of organizational practice. . It is alarming time for all those organizations that wish to be successful in global HR to gear up and implement desired shift in their prevailing HRD practices and leverage their human resource along with the other resources Introduction: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. formed in October, 2000, is World's 7th largest Telecommunications Company providing comprehensive range of telecom services in India: Wireline, CDMA mobile, GSM Mobile, Internet, Broadband, Carrier service, MPLS-VPN, VSAT, VoIP services, IN Services etc. Within a span of five years it has become one of the largest public sector unit in India. BSNL has installed Quality Telecom Network in the country and now focusing on improving it, expanding the network, introducing new telecom services with ICT applications in villages and wining customer's confidence. Today, it has about 47.3 million line basic telephone capacity, 4 million WLL capacity, 20.1 Million GSM Capacity, more than 37382 fixed exchanges, 18000 BTS, 287 Satellite Stations, 480196 Rkm of OFC Cable, 63730 Rkm of Microwave Network connecting 602 Districts, 7330 cities/towns and 5.5 Lakhs villages. OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY 1. To know the demographic profile of employees in the study unit.

2. To examine the level of HRD Practices factors.

3. To identify the relationship between Job Satisfaction factors.

4. To study the relationship and impact between HRD Practices and Job Satisfaction of employees in the study unit.

Study:The present study is exploratory in nature and aims to inspect and compare the HRD Practices as perceived by the employees at managerial and non-managerial level in BSNL. Initially we studied the job hierarchy of BSNL backed up by various research methodology to get the data needed.

Research Methodology:

The methodology of the study is based on the primary data as well as secondary data. The study depends mainly on the primary data collected through a well-framed and structured questionnaire to elicit the well-considered opinions of the respondents by survey method. For conducting this research a sample of 100 employees in BSNL, Indore by Random Sampling method. Both executives and non-executives group are included male and female and their age group is 25 to 56 years.

The scoring scale of the questionnaire was 5=Strongly Agree, 4=Agree, 3=Neutral, 2= Disagree and, 1=Strongly Disagree. The tool measured the five dimensions which have also been the most important HRD Practices namely, Quality of Work life and Welfare measures, Organizational Development, Training and Development, Performance Appraisal and Participative Management. On the basis of these dimensions the HRD Practices has been judged in both the organizations and the analysis has been made.
