Place the handset on the base. The redcharging light will come on. The handsetcomes pre-registered to the base stationas SYNERGY 1. This is shown on thedisplay. The icon is also shown onthe display and the battery icon.

Once the handset is fully charged, thedisplay shows a full battery symbol.

BATTERY LEVELS

WEAK HALF-FULL FULL

Battery low warning

If the handset battery symbol is emptyand flashing, and you hear a warningbeep every 10 seconds, you will need to recharge your handset before you canuse it.

Battery performance

Under no circumstances should non-rechargeable batteries be used.Only use the approved batteries, type:rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride(NiMH); Size AAA; Capacity 550 mAh;1.2V. Using unapproved batteries willinvalidate your guarantee and maydamage the telephone.

To keep your batteries in the bestcondition, leave the handset off the base station for a few hours at a time(after the initial 16 hour charge).

Fully discharging the batteries at leastonce a week will help them last as longas possible.

After charging your handset for the firsttime, subsequent charging time for thebattery is approximately 6-8 hours aday. Batteries and handset may be comewarm during charging. This is normal.

Under ideal condition the handsetbatteries should give about 14 hourstalk time or 350 hours standby on asingle charge. (This does not mean youcan unplug the base station or leave itfor this length of time without charge.)

Please note however, that new NiMHbatteries do not reach full capacity until they have been in normal use forseveral days.

Note

The symbol on your handset displayindicates when you are in range of thebase station. If the symbol flashes andyou hear a warning beep, you are out of range and will need to movecloser to the base station.

The handset has a range of 300 metresoutdoors and up to 50 metres indoors. The stated range of this product ismeasured in open field conditions.Walls, ceilings and metal structures willreduce the maximum range.
