ADMISSION POLICY AND SELECTION PROCEDURE
FOR ACADEMIC YEAR 2011-12
FOR B.TECH COURSES IN
SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY
1 INTRODUCTION
1.1 ITM University has been established by the Haryana State Legislature under The Haryana
Private Universities Act (Third amendment), 2009.
1.2 ITM University is a Private Self Financed multi disciplinary University recognized under Section
2(f) and has the right to confer degrees under Section 22(1) of the UGC Act, 1956.
1.3 ITM University has been included by UGC in their select list of approved Universities. This
list of recognized Universities can be obtained from the UGC website www.ugc.ac.in
1.4 This policy shall be called the ADMISSION POLICY & SELECTION PROCEDURE-2011 (APSP-
2011) for admission to SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE
COURSES (BACHELOR OF TECHNOLOGY) awarded by ITM University.
1.5 This policy has been prepared in accordance with the First Ordinances of the University duly
approved by Govt. of Haryana to ensure that admissions are made strictly in accordance
with merit in a fair and transparent manner in the interest of all concerned.
1.6 Admissions will be made on merit secured in AIEEE 2011 subject to minimum eligibility criteria.
2 APPLICABILITY
2.1 This Admission Policy & Selection Procedure-2011 is valid for the academic year 2011 12
and shall be applicable for all admissions to B.Tech courses except for admission to Children
/ Ward of Non Resident Indian (NRIs).

3.1 One additional seat in each branch shall be reserved for Kashmiri migrants.
4 MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA4.1 To be eligible for admission to the first year of any of the School of Engineering, Undergraduate
Course of the University, a candidate mustbe an Indian National and must fulfill the following
minimum eligibility criteria.
4.2 The applicant should have passedthe 10+2 (English Medium) examination conducted by
Central Board of Secondary Education or equivalent examination from a recognized board in
Science stream with an overall aggregate of 60%. Additionally, the applicant should have
secured not less than 60% marks in each of the subjects given hereunder:
(1) MATHEMATICS (2) PHYSICS (3) ENGLISH
(Rounding of marks is not permitted. Therefore, a student with an aggregate of 59.9% marksor less than 60% will NOT be eligible to apply)
A student from a university / board NOT recognized by CBSE / AICTE / UGC /AIU/ MHRD or
any other statutory body of Government of India shall not be eligible for admission.
4.3 In case a student has completed his/her equivalent examination from an overseas board,
he/ she shall necessarilyhave to obtain and submit a certificate of equivalence from the AIU
(Association of Indian Universities) at the time of admission. He/ She will also have to appear
and secure a rank in AIEEE 2011 (this condition of appearing in AIEEE 2011 is not applicable
for students seeking admission under the category for Kashmiri Migrants). Applicants under
this category shall be admitted based on merit secured in Class XII or equivalent subject to all
the other minimum eligibility criteria.
4.4 AGE LIMIT: The applicant must not be more than 21 years of age as on 31ST December 2011.
The date of birth printed on the Class X mark sheet issued by CBSE or equivalent board shall
be considered for determining the age of the candidate. In case of student(s) who may have
passed their equivalent examination from an overseas board, the age mentioned on his/her
passport shall be considered.
4.5 ALL INDIA ENGINEERING ENTRANCE TEST 2011 (AIEEE):
The merit of the candidate for selection for admission will be decided by AIEEE overall Merit
Rank. The applicant must have appeared in AIEEE 2011 and secured a rank.

4.6 Since the application cum processing fee is not refundable under any circumstances
whatsoever, before submitting an application for admission, the applicant must ensure that
he/ she fulfills the minimum eligibility conditions applicable to the category(s) under which
admission is being sought by him/ her. He/she must only apply after he/ she has fully read
and understood the Admission Policy and Selection Procedure, the fee structure and the
refund / cancellation policy of the University for Academic session 2011-2012. This will be
available on the University website www.itmindia.edu for the information of all concerned
and / or can be obtained from the University.
5 GENERAL CONDITIONS
5.1 In the event the Admission Committee of the University is not satisfied with the character or
antecedents of an applicant(s), in the overall interest of maintaining the academic standards
and discipline in the University, it, retains the exclusive right not to admit him/her to the
University.
5.2 A student who furnishes particulars, which are found to be false, or suppresses material
information, shall not be considered for admission, and, if he/ she has been admitted on the
basis of such information, besides legal action at his/ her cost, his/ her admission shall stand
automatically cancelled and the entire fee of any description whatsoever paid by him/ hershall stand fully forfeited.
5.3 Mere possession of the prescribed academic qualifications does not entitle a candidate for
admission. Candidates shall have to fulfill all other conditions as spelt out in the Admission
Policy & Selection Procedure.
5.4 STUDENTS/ PARENTS ARE CAUTIONED NOT TO USE ANY INTERMEDIARY OR BROKER FOR
SECURING ADMISSION. BESIDES BEING ILLEGAL, SUCH AN ACTION COULD RENDER THE
CANDIDATE INELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE ADMISSION PROCESS.
5.5 A student who wishes to be admitted after a gap period of one year and/ or, more (after
passing the qualifying examination) shall submit at the time of admission, an affidavit dulyNotarized, justifying the reasons of gap period and certifying that he/ she had not taken
admission in any college and had not been rusticated or had not been sentenced to Jail for a
criminal offence. He/she will necessary have to comply with the minimum eligibility criteria
including AIEEE 2011.

6.1 Intake is subject to change by the University. In case there is any new discipline offered and
/ or increase or decrease in intake in existing disciplines, the ratio of reservation will be the
same. Increase / decrease in intake, upto 10% of seats in each branch may be made, to cater
for dropouts and to maintain merit.

8 WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR EACH CATEGORY
8.1 ALL INDIA (including Haryana); An Indian national from any part of the country including
Haryana who complies with the minimum eligibility criteria.
HARYANA RESIDENTS ARE ALSO ENTITLED FOR ADMISSION AGAINST ALL INDIA CATEGORY
SEATS (covered under 8.1)
8.2 HARYANA (General): A student who is a domicile of Haryana or has passed his 10+2 or
equivalent examination from a recognized school in Haryana and complies with the minimum
eligibility criteria. Unfilled seats if any, under this category will be transferred to the All India
(including Haryana) category.
8.3 HARYANA (Scheduled Castes): The candidate must be a domicile of Haryana and from a
Scheduled Caste of Haryana as notified by State Govt. and should comply with the minimum
eligibility criteria. Unfilled seats, if any, under this category will be transferred to the Haryana
General category.
8.4 CHILD /WARD OF NRI: To be eligible for admission under this category, the applicant must
be the child / ward of a Non Resident Indian as defined under Income Tax Act and must
comply with the minimum eligibility criteria. (AIEEE 2011 willnotbe applicable for these
students).
Students admitted under this category will pay a substantially higher fee as per para 21below.
The extra fee collected from these students will be used to give fee concessions to students
from economically weaker sections of society on merit cum means criteria.
Students under this category will be admitted on First - come - first served basis subject
to the minimum eligibility criteria and availability of seats.
Since admissions to this category shall be made on first come first served basis, no refund
will be permissible in case of withdrawal before or after the last date of admission.
Also, a candidate who has applied / secured admission under this category cannot apply for
admission under any other category thereafter.

To apply under this category, please purchase the application form from the University from
25.4.2011 to 19.7.2011.
8.5 KASHMIRI MIGRANTS: One seat in each branch shall be reserved for Kashmiri Migrants.
These seats will be supernumerary and will be filled on the basis of inter- se merit in the
class XII or equivalent examination and subject to the candidate complying with the minimum
eligibility criteria. (AIEEE 2011 willnotbe applicable for these students).
Kashmiri migrants will be required to submit the original certificate of migration duly signedby the competent authority or Relief Commissioner.
8.6 The unfilled seat(s) if any, under Haryana General and/or NRI category (excluding Kashmiri
Migrants) will be transferred to the All India general category before the commencement
of physical counseling. Similarly, unfilled seats under Haryana SC category will be transferred
to Haryana General category and if still not filled, to All India Category.
8.7 A candidate who applies under a reserved category will first be considered under the All
India Category. Only in case he/she does not get a seat, will he/she be considered under
the reserved category subject to there being a seat when his/her merit rank is called.
8.8 Candidates who have applied and are found eligible under Haryana General or Haryana SCCategory but secure seats in All India Category due to their merit shall retain their respective
categories for all purposes, including consideration for fee concession.
9. ADMISSION COMMITTEE
9.1 Admissions shall be made by a 5 member Admission Committee comprising of faculty and
administrative staff of the University to be nominated by the Vice / Pro Vice Chancellor. The
Committee will be headed by the Registrar or a person who is not less than the rank of a
Professor.
9.2 The Committee shall scrutinize the application forms for admission of the candidates in
accordance with the conditions of admission prescribed in this Admission Policy and Selection
Procedure.
9.3 The decision of the Admission Committee on any matter concerning the admission policy
and selection procedure shall be final and binding on all concerned, subject to review as
provided in clause 24.
10. ADMISSION NOTICE
10.1 To fill seats to B.Tech. degree courses offered by the School of Engineering & Technology for
academic session 2011-12, the University shall publish an admission notice inviting
applications from interested candidates. The admission notice shall be published in at least
two national dailies and / or their education supplements.
10.2 A copy of the admission notice along with this Admission Policy and Selection Procedure
2011 shall be uploaded on the website of the University www.itmindia.edu for the
information of all concerned on or before the first admission notice is published in the national
dailies and / or their education supplements.
10.3 Not less than fifteen days time from the date of the admission notice shall be given to
interested candidates to submit their applications and processing fee.
10.4 If not provided in the Admission Notice, the Admission notice shall clearly provide the website
details from where the following information can be obtained:
(a) Minimum eligibility conditions for applicants seeking admission with conditions, if any.
(b) The number of seats branch/ category wise to be filled.

(c) The Annual fee to be paid by the students.
(d) The date, time and venue for the display of admission list and/or physical counseling,
as the case may be.
(e) Any other relevant issue of interest
11. HOW TO APPLY
11.1 There are three ways students can apply:-(a) Online on University website www.itmindia.edu:- Students will fill in the form online
and also pay the processing fee of 1,000/- online. They will receive an email
confirmation for their online application. The confirmation will also constitute an
acknowledgement of having received the processing fee and will also state what is to
be done next.
On receiving the email confirmation, the documents mentioned in Para 11.2 along
with the printout of confirmation email should be sent by the applicant by post or
submit by hand to ITM University on or before the last date as mentioned in para 15.
(b) Off Line (OMR Application Forms) :- OMR application Forms can be obtained by hand
from the University Campus or from designated branches of Syndicate Bank listed below
by paying the processing fee of 1,000/-. OMR forms can be submitted by hand or by
post at the University Campus along with the documents mentioned in Para 11.2 below.
Those who are sending the form by post will also have to enclose a copy of the receipt
of 1,000/- (Application and Processing Fee) issued by the bank and / or the university.
OMR Forms can also be requested (and obtained) by post from the University by the
applicants giving their postal address and enclosing a bank draft of 1,000/- in favour
of ITM University Gurgaon payable at Gurgaon/ Delhi only.
The applicant must write his full name and address on the reverse of the bank draft.
Duly filled OMR forms can then be submitted by post or by hand enclosing all documentslisted in Para 11.2 below.

be submitted by hand or by post at the University campus with the documents

(d) Application on plain paper shall not be accepted.

11.2 The following certificates are required to be submitted by post/hand to The Chairman, B.Tech
Admission Committee, ITM University, Sector 23A, Gurgaon 122017, Haryana while
applying for admission:-
(i) Class X mark sheet (as proof of date of birth).
(ii) Class XII or equivalent marksheet
(iii) Copy of AIEEE 2011 Result card.
(iv) Domicile Certificate (only if applying for seats reserved for Haryana (Form -1)
(All documents must be self attested by the student. By Post indicates Registered Post or by
speed post only.)
11.3 Incomplete application forms and/or applications submitted without the processing fee /
required enclosures shall be invalidated.
11.4 Students should submit only one application form using one of the three ways i.e. Online,
OMR or Downloaded application forms otherwise the application is liable to be rejected.
11.5 Students are cautioned to fill their preferences in the application form only after dueconsideration. Once the application form has been submitted, no change in preference will
be permitted under any circumstances whatsoever. However, they must fill all the choices in
their order of preference. If a preference is left blank, it will be presumed the applicant is
not interested in the said discipline. However, to increase their chances of receiving a seat,
candidates are advised to fill in all the preferences for all branches and not to leave anyone
blank.
11.6 It is made expressly clear that admissions shall be made strictlyon meritonlyfrom amongst
candidates who have applied in the prescribed form within the stipulated time limit prescribed
in the admission notice published by the University and have deposited the processing fee
and whose application has not been invalidated due to any shortcoming. Applications whichare incomplete & not in the prescribed form & not accompanied with the copies of documents
as in para 11.2 shall be rejected.
12. APPLICATION AND PROCESSING FEE
12.1 The processing fee shall be paid online for online application forms. For Offline (OMR
applications forms) it will be paid in cash or by demand draft while collecting the forms from
the University or from the designated centres of the Syndicate Bank as per para 11.1 or while
requesting them by post. (Cheques will not be accepted under any circumstances).
12.2 Drafts must be made in favour of the ITM University Gurgaon and must be payable at
GURGAON / DELHI only. Candidates name and address must be superscribed on the reverse
of the draft.
12.3 The Application and Processing fee is non refundable under any circumstances whatsoever.
Therefore, students are advised to purchase their applications only after due consideration
of this fact.
13 LAST DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS FORMS
13.1 Duly completed application forms on theprescribed form onlyshould be submitted by eligible
candidates online on or before 11.6.2011 or offline (OMR) or downloaded application form
at the University, Sector 23 A, Gurgaon on or before 20.6.2011 along with the receipt of the
application and processing fee and the self attested photocopies of relevant enclosures
required.

13.2 Postal Applications of OMR and downloaded forms will only be accepted if accompanied
with the receipt of the processing fee issued by Syndicate bank and / or ITM University and
postmarkedon or before 20.06.2011, provided the draft is also dated on or before 20.6.2011.
13.3 To avoid any delay in preparing the merit list, in any case, no postal applications will be
accepted if received after 25.6.2011 even if postmarked on or before 20.6.2011.
13.4 In case OMR or downloaded application forms with application and processing fee receipt is
submitted by hand, it shall only be accepted at the University campus on all working days(Monday to Friday) from 9 A.M. to 4 P.M.
13.5 Applications received after the last date specified in the Admission Notice, for any reason
whatsoever, shall not be considered under any circumstances. Accordingly, in their own
interest, candidates should ensure timely submission of the application form.
14 ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF APPLICATION FORM
14.1 Applicants must insist on a receipt for the application form if submitted by him / her personally
by hand. Online applications shall be acknowledged by e mail. Postal applications shall be
sent their receipts by post.
14.2 The receipt/acknowledgement shall constitute the only evidence for timely submission ofthe application with the processing fee.

16 SELECTION PROCEDURE
16.1 Subject to the minimum eligibility criteria specified by the University, all admissions (except
Kashmiri migrants and children/wards of Non Resident Indians) shall be made STRICTLY
according to MERIT secured in AIEEE 2011 (All India Rank) only from amongst the eligible
applications received on the prescribed form by the University along with the processing fee
within the time frame stipulated for submission of the same.
16.2 Children / ward of NRIs will be admitted on the basis of merit in Class XII or equivalent onFirst - come - first served basis subject to availability of seats and compliance with the
formalities with respect to sponsorship etc. Unfilled seats if any under this category will be
transferred to the All India category on the date of first physical counseling i.e. 20.07.2011.
16.3 For Kashmiri Migrants refer Para 8.5.
17 ONLINE DISPLAY OF FIRST ADMISSION CUM MERIT LIST
17.1 Based on AIEEE 2011 rank, a merit cum admission list shall be prepared of the applications
received on or before the last date specified for submitting applications on line / by hand /
post. Besides uploading this list on the website of the University www.itmindia.edu on
28.6.2011, it will also be displayed on the Notice Board of the University for the Informationof all concerned on the same day.
17.2 The Merit cum Admission list will carry the following details of students in order of merit:
(a) Name of the Student
(b) Gender
(c) ndividual marks secured in Mathematics, Physics and English
(d) AIEEE Roll No.
(e) AIEEE 2011 Overall Merit Rank
(f) Category under which admission offered
(g) Branch in which admission offered
(h) Aggregate marks
17.3 Fee Payable for securing admission and Last date for payment of fees for securing admission
shall be in accordance with Para 21 and may also be mentioned in the covering note of the
Merit cum Admission list. Before depositing the fee to secure their admission, in their own
interest, students/parents must refer to the refund/cancellation policy in case of withdrawal
before and after the last date of admission (Refer paras 26 28)
7.4 Merely depositing fee will not confirm the admission. Submitting / getting document verified
as per clause 23.1 is necessary before admission can be confirmed.
18 SECURING YOUR ADMISSION
18.1 Students whose names appear in the first or second merit cum admission list displayed by
the University MUST deposit their first semester fee in full as given in para 21 on or before
the last date specified for the purpose to secure their admission.
18.2 Semester fee will not be accepted in part or in installments
18.3 In the event a student fails to deposit his/her fee on or before the date specified, the offer of
admission will stand automatically withdrawn and the student will have no claim whatsoever
on the seat.

19 SLIDING PROCESS
19.1 After the last date for depositing the fee for students offered admission in the first merit
cum admission list has expired and before displaying the second admission list, sliding shall
be undertaken based on merit for seats unfilled. Those students who were offered admission
in the first list and accepted their admission by paying their semester fee on or before the
last date specified will also be eligible for sliding for upgrading their branch preference, in
addition to those who had applied but did not make it to the first admission list, subject to
availability of seats as per their merit.
19.2 In the event of availability of seat(s), if at all, student (s) will be automatically upgraded to
their higher preference, if any, in accordance with merit unless they have voluntary
relinquished their right in writing at the time of payment of fee.
20 PHYSICAL COUNSELING
20.1 Prior to commencement of physical counseling the branch wise number of seats to be filled
will be displayed at the counseling venue and also on the website www.itmindia.edu
20.2 In accordance strictly with merit of AIEEE 2011, students would be invited one by one to
exercise their choice, based on the availability of seats and the preference indicated in theirapplications.
20.3 Physical counseling, if at all, will be conducted at the University campus on 20.7.2011 and
21.7.2011 to fill unfilled / dropout seats if any.
Candidates who may have applied but were not offered admission in the first and second
merit lists and are still interested to secure admission MUST be physically present in person
at this counseling and should apply again in the prescribed form Annexure -3 only, along with
the original processing fee receipt.
20.4 Any applicant who is not present at the venue and whose application is not received before
start of physical counseling will not be considered for admission.
20.5 Candidates who have not applied earlier but are desirous of admission through the physical
counseling can also apply on the form at Annexure 3 and pay 1000/- processing fee and be
present alongwith all documents as para 23.1 and fees as per para 21 as per date schedule
given in para 15
20.6 Students already admitted as per the earlier admission lists are also eligible to participate if
they still wish to change their branch. However, whilst they need not fill the admission form
again, their physical presence is necessary alongwith the proof of admission i.e. Admission
fee receipt in original.
20.7 In case an applicant(s) does not present himself / herself when his / her rank is called, he/
she will loose his / her right over the seat(s) available at that point. The seat(s) will be offeredto the applicant next in rank. Accordingly, in their own interest, students are advised not to
leave the counseling venue while the counseling process is underway.
20.8 Since it is necessary to fill all unfilled seats as far as possible, student(s) offered admission at
the physical counseling will have to deposit the first semester fee in full on the spot to
secure their admission, failing which the seat will be offered to the next candidate in order of
merit. All documents, as per Chart at 23.1 should also be produced for submission/ verification.
Accordingly, in their own interest, students must come fully prepared with the fee in cash /
draft, as the case may be and the required documents. In case any document(s) required are
not produced in original for submission / verification, admission will be denied.

20.9 It is made expressly clear that paras 27.5, 27.6 and 28 are equally applicable for students
admitted through Physical Counseling / Change of branch/discipline will not be permitted
under any circumstances whatsoever after conclusion of physical counseling on 21.07.2011.
Accordingly, candidates are cautioned to accept admission only after due consideration of
these conditions.
20.10 Since seats are perishable and must be filled before the last date of admission, unfilled and
/ or drop out seats after the Physical Counseling, if any shall be filled on first - come first
served basis subject to the minimum eligibility criteria.
21 SCHEDULE OF FEE

21.1 No other fee/fund (except Hostel charges if applicable) by whatsoever name called shall bepayable by a student other than prescribed in the year of his/her admission.
21.2 However, fee applicable in the year of admission shall be subject to year on year increase of
3% for the duration of the course.
21.3 The total fee for the year including hostel charges if applicable will be payable in two equal
bi-annual installments (semester wise in advance) in the case of Resident Indian student
only. Children / wards of Non Resident Indian shall pay the fee annually in advance.
21.4 Semester fees cannot be paid in part or installments.
21.5 Fees can only be paid by Demand Draft or Cash or by credit card. All demand drafts shall be
made favouring ITM University Gurgaon and shall be payable at Gurgaon or New Delhi.
21.6 Fee paid by a student is not refundable under any circumstances in part or whole after
commencement of the academic session unless the seat is filled on or before the last date of
admission. Child / ward of NRI will not be eligible for refund before / after last date of
admission. Since these seats are filled on First come first served basis and not on
AIEEE merit.
21.7 Student must obtain a receipt for every payment made to the University as that shall constitute
their only proof of payment.
21.8 Fees must only be paid at the Accounts Office of the University.
21.9 EDUCATION LOANS are available to students under special arrangement for students of ITMUniversity through CREDILA Financial Services (promoted by HDFC). To apply for loans visit

22 MERIT CUM MEANS FEE CONCESSION
22.1 The fee structure for 25% students admitted under Haryana General and Haryana SC
categories who are domicile of Haryana shall be based on Merit-cum-Means and be as follows:-
(a) 5% out of the 25% shall be granted full fee exemption.
(b) 10% out of the 25% shall be granted 50% fee concession.

(c) The balance 10% of the 25% shall be granted 25% fee concession.
22.2 Notwithstanding the award of fee concessions, all candidates selected for admission will
have to first deposit their fee as per clause (21) above to secure their admission.
22.3 Grant of fee concessions by a Committee nominated by the Vice / Pro Vice Chancellor shall
be refunded to those awarded fee concession, within two months from the last date of
admission i.e. 8.08.2011.
22.4 The concession amounts will be paid in the name of the students by account payee crossed
cheque only.
23 DOCUMENTS TO BE VERIFIED/SUBMITTED AT THE TIME OF ADMISSION
23.1 In additions to the fees, to secure their admission, student (s) will be required to produce for
verification/submission the following certificates in original unless as specified below.

23.2 The Original Transfer and Migration Certificates submitted by students at the time of admission
becomes the property of the University and therefore will not be returned.
23.3 Admitted students will be issued a new Transfer Certificate and Migration Certificate under
the seal of the University on completion of the degree.
24 GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL
24.1 Grievance / complaints, if any, against any action/decision of the Admissions Committee can
be made in writing to the Vice / Pro Vice Chancellor of the University, within 3 days of the
decision.
24.2 In case there is any ambiguity whatsoever, with respect to this policy, his written interpretation
/ clarification / decision shall be final and binding on all concerned.
25 COMMENCEMENT OF ACADEMIC SESSION
Monday 25th JULY 2011.
26 LAST DATE FOR CANCELLATION / WITHDRAWAL OF ADMISSION
Monday 18th JULY 2011.
26.1 As per the apex court / competent authority, no seat(s) can be filled after the last date ofadmission. Under the circumstances, if unfilled seat(s) are not filled before the last date of
admission, such seat(s) will remain vacant for the next four years since no lateral entry
admissions directly to the IInd year will be made by the University. Therefore, to give the
University enough time to find suitable students/ replacements for their vacant / dropout
seats, the last date for cancellation / withdrawal of admission has deliberately been kept
well before the last date of admission.
26.2 Accordingly, students desirous of canceling their admission MUST NOT confuse the last
date of admission to be the last date for cancellation / withdrawal of admission.
27 REFUND / CANCELLATION POLICY
27.1 All requests for cancellations/withdrawal of admission must be made in writing by the
applicant giving reasons for the same and must be accompanied with the original fee receipt
quoting the branch in which admission was granted, AIEEE ROLL No & Rank. Requests made
verbally or by fax/email or without the original fee receipt shall not be entertained.
27.2 In case a student withdraws his / her admission before the last date of withdrawal (on or
before 18th July 2011) the fee deposited by him / her will be refunded after deducting
1000/- (One thousand only).
27.3 The refund shall be made in the name of the student by crossed account payee cheque only
and shall be mailed by Registered post to the student within one month from the last date of
admission or earlier. There is no need for the student and / or his/her parent to visit theUniversity in this regard.
27.4 In case a student does not have a bank account and wishes to have his/her refund cheque in
the name of either parent, he / she shall submit a notarized affidavit along with the application
for withdrawal (specimen of affidavit available at FORM-5)
27.5 In case of withdrawal after the last date of cancellation / withdrawal (i.e. after 18th July 2011),
but before the last date of admission (i.e. 8 th August 2011) the fee deposited will only be
refunded if the vacated seat has beenfilled before the last date of admission. Refund if at all,
in this case as well will be subject to a deduction of 1000/-

27.6 As per the Honble Supreme Court and / or the competent authority, no admissions can be
made by the University to fill a vacancy that may arise after the last date of admission (i.e. 8th
August 2011). Therefore, incase of withdrawal after the last date of admission, it will be
classified a mid course withdrawal, as the seat so vacatedwill continue to remain unfilled for
the balance years of the degree. In view thereof, incase of any mid-course withdrawal, no
fee, by whatsoever name called is refundable under any circumstances whatsoever.
27.7 Since Children / Wards of NRIs are admitted on First come first served basis and not
on the basis of merit of a common entrance test, in case of withdrawal before or after the
last date of withdrawal / admission, no fee / fund by whatsoever name called is refundable.
28 MID COURSE WITHDRAWALS
28.1 Since no mid-course admissions can be made by the University to fill a vacancy caused by a
mid-course withdrawal, No objection certificate or Migration/ Transfer Certificate for a mid-
course withdrawal to a student of any category including child / ward of NRI shall only be
given by the University to a student after he/she has deposited the balance years fees and
any other dues outstanding to the University as per affidavit submitted at the time of
admission.
29 LAST DATE OF ADMISSION
8th August 2011.
No admission to any B.Tech course shall be made after 8.8.2011 under any circumstances whatsoever
30 ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY
30.1 Ragging is strictly prohibited in ITM University and ITM University follows a ZERO Tolerance
policy towards Ragging. Ragging, its abetment, eve-teasing and / or any kind of mental or
physical harassment, either directly or indirectly, of any student(s) by whatsoever name called
which may hurt the sensibilities or self esteem of a student(s), inside or outside the University
and/or its hostel(s) / mess, cafeteria is strictly prohibited by law and as held by the Honble
Supreme Court of India in its order dated 08/05/2009 in the case titled University of Kerala
Vs Council, Principals College Kerala & others bearing CA No. 887/2009.
Disorderly conduct whether by words spoken or written or by an act, which has the effect of
teasing, treating or handling with rudeness any other student(s), indulging in rowdy or in-
disciplined activities which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological
harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in a fresher or junior student(s) or asking the
student(s) to do any act or perform something, which such student(s) will not do in the
ordinary course and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame or
embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche of a fresher or a junior
student shall constitute an act of ragging.
30.2 Association, active or passive, with any unlawful organization including holding and/or
participating in demonstrations, inciting violence, displaying notices or circulating handbills
in the University and/or its hostel (s)/mess is strictly prohibited.
30.3 Smoking, consumption of alcohol, drugs or any other intoxicant by whatsoever name called
within the University premises and/or its hostel (s)/mess is strictly prohibited by law.
30.4 Besides police/legal action, a student found indulging in any of the above activity(s) shall
be expelled from the University. In case of expulsion from the University, under such
circumstances, the entire fee paid by him/her shall be forfeited.
30.5 Use of cellular/satellite telephones and/or pagers within the University premises (other than
the Main Cafeteria area) is strictly prohibited.
