  • BUCHANAN COUNTY DELINQUENT TAXES Notice is hereby given that on Monday June 16th, 2014 at 8:30 AM in the Buchanan County Assembly room (located in the basement of the courthouse) we will conduct our annual Tax Sale. Any delinquent taxes remaining unpaid, at close of day on June 13th at 4:30 PM, will be sold at the Tax Sale including:

     Parcels on which all taxes were levied for the 2012 assessment and prior years

     2013 Special Assessments and prior years

     Mobile Home Taxes that were due September 2013 and March 2014 and prior years Any taxpayer affected may pay the total amount due (delinquent taxes + penalty + cost) prior to June 16th, 2014 to the treasurer’s office. Acceptable forms of payment include: cash, certified check, or money order. Public bidder is indicated on those parcels that shall be sold. If the items are not redeemed within the period allowed by Iowa Code CH 447, the right to redeem will expire and a tax deed may be issued. In addition to the normal tax sale proceedings, the treasurer may also bring to cause an ordinary suit of law to be commenced, tried, and prosecuted to final judgments, as provided by Iowa Code CH 445.3. All bidders must be registered by noon on Friday June 13th, 2014. Adjourn sales will be held every 60 days for any parcels that were unsold.
