Day 1: Cusco – Hidroelectrica – AguasCalientes

You will be picked up with private transport at 7am from Loki. Makesure to bring with you something to read or write, or use the time tocatch up on some sleep after a wild night at Loki! The drive to thehydroelectric station will take about 7 or 8 hours in favorablconditions. Short (10-15 minute) stops will be made along the way tostretch your legs.

Upon arrival at the hydroelectric station it will be a 2-3 hour (12kmwalk along the railroad to AguasCalientes with your guide – don’ forget to bring proper clothing in case of rain, and a flashlight as yomay be walking in the dark!! Hostel overnight in AguasCalientes.



Allow yourself between 30 minutes and 1 hour to reach the top (depending on your fitness level). You will want to spend a bit of time at the top exploring the ruins andthen you’ll need 20-45 minutes to return to Machu Picchu. You should give yourself about two hours total.

There are two entry times, the first group goes up at 7:00am and the second at

10:00am, we recommend going up with the second group after your 7:45am guidedtour of Machu Picchu.

LOKI TIP! If there is no more availability to climb Wayna Picchu, or if youwould like to take a trail less trodden, ask your guide about climbing theMachu Picchu mountain, visiting the Sun Gate or the Inca Bridge.

Day 2 : Wayna Picchu – Machu Picchu

Climb Wayna Picchu for this incredible viewover Machu Picchu - only 400 people can climbper day, so arrive at the gates by 6am toreserve your place.

You guide will leave no stone unturned during your two hourtour of Machu Picchu – but feel free to test his/her knowledgewith your own questions. Don’t forget to bring insect repellent for the sand flies!After the guided tour you will the rest of the day to

explore Machu Picchu on your own, remember Machu Picchuis closing his doors at 5pm!

*LOKI TIP!! Ask your guide about the trail around the back of Wayna Picchu to visit the Temple of the Moon (2-2.5 hours total).

With the 3 days / 2 nights option you walk back or take the bus (not included) to Aguas Calientes and spent the night in the villagebefore walking back on the morning of the third day to the hydroelectric and then return with private transport to Cusco.You will arrive back at Loki at 11-11.30pm.

Day 1 is the same as in the 3d/2n program but on the second dayafter the guided Machu Picchu tour you will have some free timebefore needing to return to Aguas Calientes to catch your trainback to the hydroelectric station (train times vary depending on

the day).

Upon your arrival at the hydroelectric station you’ll meet upwith your private transport once again – get ready for the longdrive (7-8hours) back to Cusco!! The driver will stop along theway so you can stretch your legs as well buy snacks and water.You will arrive back at Loki at 11-11:30pm.
