Builder‘s Buddy is a free pair of scripts that you can use in Second

Life to create or assemble copyable ‚all rights‘ objects, pack them

(electronically) into a box and rezz them when and where you want, as

long you have the appropriate rights . Holodecks are created in a

similar fashion.

In theory, there is virtually no limit to the size of your product - it could

be a mighty cathedral, a forest, an entire village, an extremely high

tower or a sprawling market - though there is little point in creating

something you will probably not be able to rezz.

!!!! Check that the THE BASE SCRIPT and the COMPONENT

SCRIPT are using the same channel. !!! (And make sure you are not

using channels being used by someone near you).

You should find the BASE SCRIPT CHANNEL round about line 97

- but this does vary from copy to copy..

The COMPONENT script channel is round about line 51.

If there are any discrepencies, just change them by highlighting the

number of the channel and changing it. (Then SAVE).

To check on any prim, RIGHT CLICK and select EDIT.

CLICK the CONTENTS tab and see which script it contains.

18

This step also concerns people working in groups who can

accidentally destroy a neighbour‘s work if they use the

same channel.

Click on all the prims in turn – but NOT the base

prim – and „TAKE“ them into the inventory i.e.

CLICK on ‚take‘, which takes the item into your

inventory.

!! Name your prims clearly and recognisably, and

REMEMBER what you have called them. You could

even jot down a note on old-fashioned paper with

an old-fashioned writing instrument. This will make

your life much easier later when you are looking for

them in the inventory!!

DO NOT TAKE THE BASE PRIM INTO YOUR

INVENTORY AT THIS POINT !!!!!

28

When you have stared in wonder and fascination long

enough at your first REZZ.....

TOUCH the BASE PRIM once more and choose

CLEAN.

Your scene will disappear in a flash and leave you

wishing you could clear up an untidy room at home with

such ease.

AT LAST you can TAKE the BASE PRIM into you

inventory, and, in the future, by selecting it and opening

it, you will have access to your scene at any time and

can rezz it wherever you have permission to do so.
