Nature Forest Building Blocks

You will need:

• a selection of twigs and sticks

• a selection of stones

• a selection of flower heads and stems

• building blocks or wooden blocks

• grass

• a selection of leaves

• petals

The Activity:1. Go on a nature treasure hunt around your garden or near to your home.

Allow your child to be creative and search out lots of different items, collecting as many items and colours as possible.

2. Decide with your child what kind of scene they would like to create using their natural items. It could be a wild forest full of exotic and wild animals, a farmland scene with lots of grazing grass or a forest with beautiful woodland.

3. Create your chosen scene using your natural treasures.

4. Using your building blocks or wooden blocks, add to your chosen scene by creating animals or creatures to live in it.

5. Let your child’s imagination take off as they play with their chosen scene.
